Uncharted 2 LAN?!

Is there LAN multiplayer supported in Uncharted 2. I need some more PS3 games capable of fun multiplayer in LAN. I've got Warhawk but that tends to be too hard for the uninitiated, U2 looks great, being able to play multiplayer in LAN would be a big feature for me though.

Nope, it is online multiplayer.

And has no split-screen.

Still awesome game. really good fun!

I'm sure it is. Will definitely still be buying it. It's a pity it's not LAN capable and seriousy no splitscreen? It's funny how the internet makes one aspect of gaming socially so much better but it's also causing developers, for reasons I don't understand, to cut out classic features that were the staples of shooters for so many years. I like playing online, but I honestly can't see myself bothering too much with the likes of Uncharted 2. Looks great but I already play TF2 and Warhawk online.

I want LAN play. I'm no fan of the Bungies latest entries, but look how popular Halo is. LAN play and co-op are fundamental features of that landmark franchise, tbh that game wouldn't be anything special at all without it's multiplayer features, yet the copy-cats are nowhere to be seen. Not to mention LAN play is an awesome feature to get people buying the game and the console. The only reason me and my friends bought the original Xbox was so we could LAN Halo.

First game to get this functionality into a really popular must-have title on PS3 will be a major boost to Sony imo. There are a few good shooters on PS3 with great online play, but none imo have the appeal U2 has, which is a fun, exciting eye-pleasing romp opposed to dreary apocalyptic destruction. Not that that's bad but traditional beauty and the Hollywood cast makes the game appealing to a much wider demographic.  And none have good local multiplayer. Seems like a big gap in the market that should have been filled with something back in the PS2 days.

I'll leave this thread open for a little while to gauge what people think about this feature. Or the lack of it. I commend ND for implementing a worth while online system at all and not just chucking in some half-assed add on, from what reviewers are saying it sounds great, but I hope they and other developers for PS3 looking to make the next big online shooter see the reason to make local multiplayer possible as well as online multiplayer in the future.
