Re: What's everyone's thoughts on UC3, then?

[ Edited ]

On reflection I do think the end came off a little rushed but the Multiplayer is the most addictive thing I've played on PS3. Lvl 50 now! :-) I'd definatly give a a GOTY worthy 10/10

The set pieces are amazing, nothing in gaming I think has come close to what they do. Really embodies the word 'EPIC', everything up to when he's in the desert is brilliant, but after that it peaks and the detail and script is not quite as good as the rest of the game, for me though the best in the series. Also the story itself lacks detail and the ending is underwhelming.

I'm as impressed as anybody with the production values of the game. The graphics are a cut above anything else and the acting and story elements are handled with the proffesional touch we have come to expect from Naughty Dog. I do have some reservations about the gameplay though. I'm still not happy with the overly twitchy controls (same with UC2). Drake is far to eager to run when he could walk, and the cover system is still a bit hit and miss at times. I think Assassins Creed is still the best when it comes to 3rd person control. Not liking the over the shoulder aiming either. Even at maximum sensitivity it still feels a bit sluggish- and with no aim assist it can be a pain in some of the big firefights. Some of the gun battles can be far to long and it can become tiresome- just when you think it's over a load of bullet sponge reinforcements come in to spoil your day! I wouldn't mind if the targeting was better, but i'm afraid i have played many other games (such as Resistance) which handle gunplay much better than this. Lastly the stealth is great, but it's a shame that sometimes stealth will only get u so far before you are forced into direct combat. I'm currently at chapter 16 where i managed to stealth kill all but 2 enemies. The last 2 were guarding a door together and since you can't stealth kill 2 enemies at once (Drake is hard but he's not Ezio) the alarm is raised leading to a long and frustrating gun battle.

Re: Dial up your UC3 3D ... and be amazed!

Great post will give this a go tonight. I tried playing UC3 in 3D, but I had a lot of cross talk so this may solve it. Cheers GreenMekon

All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible. This I did.

The best way to reduce crosstalk is to let your panel warm up for an hour before play9ng in 3D.

Re: What's everyone's thoughts on UC3, then?

Its a fantastic game & its just as good as U2 but I thought the end could have been better regarding the villain lady. I think its similar to when I played Batman AC where you kind of knew what to expect & at times felt deja vu. I didn't play the Uncharted series in the right order, I went straight in at 2 & then I went & played 1, which I can't believe some people think is better than 2 or 3! Its definately Playstations best exclusive series with arguably the best video game action hero ever. The set pieces are incredible & the only negatives I had with the game were the sudden difficulty spikes now & then & the villains ending! Amazing game again Naughty Dog- 10/10!

The reason i love UC1 over UC2  UC3 is the fact that the story is the best in the series compared to the other 2. could you trust sully? what happen to drake, the spainish and the nazis? the whole adventure itself.  UC2 and 3 had great set pieces but a good story is everything to a game like this. this game is movie/game so needs a good story to pull you thru. anyway UC3 is IMO the worst of the uncharted series but still one of the best games of the year which tells you alot about how good uncharted is. The story was rushed and the game was too short. the airplane level was too short and there wasn't really enough banter between sully and nate. i did like the whole young drake part and kinda want to know what is drake's real name.

If they make UC4(and i am sure they will) i would love to see them focus on swimming and diving more, they need a proper car chase as well, the fighting needs to be polished up more and a cracking story. the super natural element in UC1 really made the game for me and wouldn't mind seeing this again.

Re: uncharted 3 platinum

I'm on about chapter 10 so far on crushing, really not looking forward to facing the fire demons towards the end. Any tips?
