Hi All,

As you may be aware the Uncharted 3: Multiplayer Public Beta has just hit the store for all you PlayStation plus subscribers.

Once you get a chance to download it and give it a go, let us know if you love it, hate it, found something usual or just want to tell us about your Uncharted 3 experience, let us know all your feedback in this thread.

Downloaded it first thing this morning and had a play at lunch. I only managed to finish one match due to some sort of error that kept freezing the console at the end of the match. It came up with a message saying "Unknown String Detected" and then it would freeze, causing me to lose all progress. I just loaded it up tonight and downloaded the patch (1.01), Connected fine and played one match of Co-op when, as usual, it froze after the match. i did a soft reset and now i cant connect to the Uncharted 3 servers at all

P.S. I know i posted all of this in the other thread but seeing as this is the "Official" Beta thread i thought id repost it in here

a fisheye graphics filter appeared in the middle of my hud, weapon fire was unresponsive during this effect...occurred several times prior to 1.01..."unknown string" pops up at the end of co-op (place holder for time up?) p2p ruins a perfectly good game again

Yeah i actually had that fisheye thing happen to me on the Chateau map today (post 1.01 patch). I didnt know what the heck was going on Didnt notice any other effect on the game though.

Also when one of the players left during a Co-op match a had the little "Disconnect" symbol appear over my aiming reticule, even though it was still playing fine and wasnt even lagging. This needs to be moved, maybe to the edge of the screen so it doesnt interrupt the game.

Im thinking the same thing about that "Unknown String" header that comes up at the end of a match. It doesnt actually do anything to break the game so it doesnt bother me for the time being.

Im also in agreement with the use of P2P, ive never been a fan of it although i must admit i have had far less connection issues than i did with UC2 and there has been little to no lag so far. Dedicated servers would be a far better choice though, i know they probably cost more and take more effort to keep in perfect working order but im sure with a game as big as this they could afford it

Edit: Just came up with a theory to do with the "Fisheye" effect that might explain it. What im thinking is that i may have been killed whilst scoping with the sniper rifle (cant remember what its called right now, its the one you pick up on the top story of the building on the Chateau map) if this is the case then it may have retained the filter used for the high powered scope on that rifle when i respawned. I'll try to duplicate it tonight and see if that is what happened

Nup, no luck in forcing the Fisheye again. My Theory= Fail

post 1.01still fisheyes ,weapon fire was responsive these times....unkown string still pops up at the end of co-op occasionally....walls obscure camera vision on chatue* co-op zone defence (central high position between zipline room & burnt out floor room)

You can also shoot through one of the walls on Chateau (competitive). Its the burning wall on the zip line side. You can fire through it before it collapses.

According to the Naughty Dog Blog, there are about 12 hours left to go of the beta. The personalised stats pages aren't working for me yet (all the entries are blank), but I doubt my numbers are that impressive anyway.

I definitely preferred the co-op modes to the competitive ones.

Most satisfying moment:

Reaching the top of the tower in the Co-op Adventure.

Most frustrating moment:

Spawning inside a wall in the Chateau during co-op arena.

Most irritating player:

A griefer who joined a co-op match only to deliberately and repeatedly frag his teammates.

"You're not playing Uncharted 2 anymore" moment:

Watching a close-up of two enemy buddies fist-bump after taking me down.

I also had one of those Tkers the other day. He was standing there in a corner holding the treasure, the other guy was running arond in circles and i was the only one actually killing anything He dropped the treasure so i picked it up and started running towards the chest only to have this guy shoot me in the back Same thing happened a couple of times so i killed him first THEN grabbed the treasure and finished the match Got a good score out of it though
