I got a game on Plaza Co-op Arena yesterday, but that's all I've played of the new maps.

Had 8 treasure drops in that game, too. Granted, 6 of them were ones I'd already got, but this is how treasure drops should work.

i apologize for what might be a stupid question ( ive never played online , uncharted 2 is my first attempt ) , but where do i find people to play with ?

Hrm... you find a lot of people in the naughty dog forums (us-community forum). Or just send some friend requests to players you have met in matchmaking.
