Re: Unchartered 2 - Overrated? Your opinion

Quite possibly the best game of all time. When I look at CoD:MW1, and I look at that single player story and graphics and well.. everything.. It just doesn't compare at all to the epic nature of Uncharted 2.

There is no game out there that ticks all the boxes that Uncharted 2 hits. And although people are entitled to their opinions.. anyone that keeps nit-picking at this game is out of their mind! This is gaming at first class, pure and simple.

Re: Unchartered 2 - Overrated? Your opinion

simpleanswer, no. i love it. the game received all it's hype for good reason. apart from the incredible detail, it all runs so smoothly. the multi-player aspect of the game was never the reason for the hype, it just an added extra (although co-op is well worth some time). so no it's not over rated, it deserves all it's praise. game of the year by far so far.

Re: Unchartered 2 - Overrated? Your opinion

You have to remember as well that this is a a sequel, so many people have played UC1 and already been introduced to many of the characters, but the game also has to stand on it's own to some degree, so it may play initially like you're treading a certain amount of 'old ground'....

That being said, for me, this game is already GOTY for me.... I think it is quite simply spectacular, from the environments, to the lighting sequence in the darkness (trying not to give away spoilers :smileywink: )

They've improved everything, including simple things like making treasure's harder to find, more varied environments, introduced a number of new characters without unnecessarily unbalancing the game.... sure the 'buddy' character leading the way may annoy people.... but I'd rather that than the story being stifled because ND decided to make your side characters mornonic.... and make them miss enemies in fire fights.....

It's clear to me that in SP the story and it's smooth continuance is the major factor that ND wanted to portray, and it does that beautifully.... it's more an interactive story than a game if you ask me.

The story has it's cheesy moments, of course, but all stories do. I was really into the multiplayer in the beta, but I'm finishing SP mode on hard first. The problem for me is not whether UC2 meets the hype, but whether COD:MW2 will meet the hype....MW created a paradigm shift for online console games, and set the bar for all multiplayer modes to be compared against it, can MW2 really supercede it's predecessor?..... But I'll be buying it anyway.... :smileyvery-happy:

SPLITTERS!!

Re: Unchartered 2 - Overrated? Your opinion

Definately not, I think many of the people who say it is are the people who were very hyped for it.
I didn't watch a single gameplay video or read a review on it, because I didn't want to expect too much, I didn't want to get hyped and be let down by it. This is a much better approach I think as you enjoy games so much more and are rarely dissapointed :smileyvery-happy:
