Re: your impressions on uncharted 3?

I thought it was sensational.

The combat got a little annoying. But aside from that, I enjoyed it thoroughly from begining to end.

The graphics were amazing and it really sucked me in. I loved it.

Re: your impressions on uncharted 3?

What kind of changes did people expect? Uncharted 2 is an amazing game so naughty dog went with most of the things that made that game so good and i think they did a really good job on UC3

'I am Andrew Ryan, and I'm here to ask you a question. Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow? 'No!' says the man in Washington, 'It belongs to the poor.' 'No!' says the man in the Vatican, 'It belongs to God.' 'No!' says the man in Moscow, 'It belongs to everyone.' I rejected those answers; instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose... Rapture!

Re: your impressions on uncharted 3?

I'm gobsmacked at the negativity in this thread, I thought it was outstanding. Loved the first three chapters or so, although it did then drop a little in quality and I was slightly worried ND had bitten off more than they could chew. However, from the cruise ship mission until the very end it was an incredible experience and I'd say it was as good as anything else I've experienced in gaming, it had it all!

Better than Uncharted 2?! Hmmm, not sure if I can say it was better but it (for me anyway) certainly lived up to the massive expectation that it had. The one thing that bugged me about UC2 was the end fight with Lazarevic, but I thing the end was handled far better this time round and was more in keeping with the rest of the game than the Lazarevic battle was.

Re: your impressions on uncharted 3? spoiler alert!!!

I'd say in terms of gameplay it's pretty much level with the second game, which I don't see as a bad thing to be honest since the second game was superb. As far as the story goes, personally I prefered the second game, but I can see how the story they went with fits into the series. We can all pick at little things about the game, but as a whole it's definately worth purchasing.

The only thing that upsets me about the game is the lack of cinema mode, but it's not a big enough complaint to ruin my enjoyment of the game, especially as i'm loving the character customisation online so much, far better than UC2 where the DLC costumes purchased for Chloe were just colour swaps.

Re: your impressions on uncharted 3? spoiler alert!!!

I loved Uncharted 3 but preferred Uncharted 2...for me Uncharted 2 just fell more cohesive. Dare I say it, but I felt Uncharted 3 suffered a little bit from too many 'run away' moments and could have done with a bit more 'game'. Still loved it though, jsut preffered 2 =)

What's a "cinema mode"?

The problem mainly is Naughty dog using the same template as U2, cos' the scenes are too similar structered. U2 & U3 template example below.

  • Underground [U2: sewage pipes / U3: London Underground]
  • Museum [uncharted 2 & 3]
  • Collapsing Building [Uncharted 2 & 3]
  • damaged transport [U2: Train / U3: Boat & Plane where Nate is responsible for the disaster]
  • Collapsing Bridges [Drake weighs too much as proven by Harry Flynn in U2 "You've put on weight, mate"]
  • Lost Cities [Shambhala & Atlantis of the Sands]
  • Mutants featured near the end
  • Chloe featured in the first part and Elena featured in the second part [U2 & U3]

This is why, it didn't seem like a big step up from Uncharted 2. They could of also looped the desert. a bit like how GTA IV did with the water; where you could go on for ages but the desert sequence annoyed me with it featuring too many black outs. Uncharted 3 is good but it didn't contain that epicness I was expecting cos it was like a chore to play. To me not enough puzzles and too much combat, a bit like Killzone 3; so I got the Drake's Deception part of the game, but where's the Uncharted part?

For Uncharted 4: explore Leonardo Da Vinci and ditch the template. More of nathan's discovered past and more detail in the relationship of Nate and Elena cos' at the moment, it seems plutonic.

This is mainly advice for the NaughtyDog writers

Its because its a sequel.

sequels are a repetition of the same format of the previous games with small and oft insignificant changes.[insert fifa analogy]

Uncharted 1 was a superb new IP with a good balance of story, cover based shooter, puzzles. Many simply saw Drake as a Male Lara Croft but actually evolved gameplay compared to the stagnant tomb raider.

Uncharted 2 was a cinematic mastepiece but the gameplay never evolved and it felt dumbed down. It still had the Uncharted feel to ***** but the story was ramped up and the fluidity was phenomenal. The problem was it was achieved by removing the difficulty.

U3 hasn't inpressed me (currently in the just past the floating globe) I havent made good progress and the boredom has set in already.  The experience is a little disjointed and its been a few minuted of gameplay continually interrupted by cutscene after cutscene after cutscene. I think Ive watched more than Ive played.

The melee combat is awfull :''(

Great game though the shortest to complete.  When is UC4 out?
