Unit 13

So, My brother and I have completed the first mission on Unit 13 about 10 times (Yeah, no bid deal, I know) - but heres my question ... No matter what, the second mission never unlocks???  I feel dumb for asking, but we are frustrated and have no idea what we are missing?

Why cant we move to the 2nd Mission?

Basically you have to unlock the level in single player to play it in multiplayer, don't worry, every level you unlock unlocks the one below and to the right, so 1 level unlocks 2, best way is to go into party mode whilst your trying to unlock levels. I figured you have to unlock them as I thought i could go through it all in coop mode but you can't.
