Win a copy of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3
It's competition time here in War & Shoot em Ups. 2 competitions in fact, both relating to Modern Warfare 3!
For this one, you stand a chance of winning a copy of the game itself.
It's going to be a pretty simple one as the winner will be chosen at random. All you have to do is reply to this thread and do a little bit of reminiscing. I want to know your most memorable War & Shoot Em Ups moments. Tell us a story about something funny that happened to you while playing on or offline.
It can relate to Call of Duty if you want, or it can be another shooter or RTS franchise. Like I said, the winner will be chosen at random by an independant party.
Needless to say, you need to be 18 year or older to enter this competition and it is only open to participants in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
The competition ends on Monday the 11th of June at 9 am so lets get them coming in!
Already own a copy of the game? Find out how you can win a download code for Collection 1

One of my most memorable moments was on Blood Gracht in KZ2
I was playing as a sniper, cloaked and hiding in the room above the canal. I turned around and there was any enemy with his back to me covering the door. So I shot him.
Suddenly over the mic Musterbuster says "Where did you come from? Were you already in here?"
Yep I'd just killed the CTL.

An oldie but after shooting lots of crab heads in the original Half-Life I always remember the fan/silo puzzle. It was such a refreshing change. See it from 8m45secs on this video http://youtu.be/KV64qS2ZTRc

Playing BF3 sniping in a building with a chopper flying overhead.
Chopper gets shot down which pluments and crashes into the building I am in, causing a wall to collapse and me to get covered in 10 tonnes of cement.

One of my most memorable moments had to be from Uncharted 2 Online and the night I got the cold blooded Trophy which you get by killing 2500 enemies online.
I had been playing the game for a few hours and was ready to call it a night at 1am. I checked my Trophy progress and saw that I had about 560 kills left to get the Trophy. I had been playing quite well so got a sudden urge just to 'go for it' thinking that because I was playing well that it wouldn't take me too long.
So this urge happened around 1am and I crawled to my bed at about 5:30am with my my cold blooded Trophy in the bag. Basically as a I grew more tired my kills were going down but I was determined and saw it through to the end!
Not sure if this is classed as a war or shoot em up as Uncharted is in the Adventure section I think?? But lets be honest, Uncharted online really is a shoot em up lol.

My most favourable memory of the Call of Duty series would be on COD4 on PC, where I got a 7 kill streak with one grenade and not to mention I also got a 35 kill streak in the same game.
One word: Brilliant.

Had a few , more than a few.
Playing MW2 on wasteland i'd chosen a crafty sniper class. At some point in the game i took up a position prone in the grass just along a trench at the bombed out vehicles and waited , pretty soon saw a team mate in a gun fight , took up a bead and shot the guy shooting at him , as i saw the guy i shot go down my team mate went down from a headshot , saw it hit him and knew it came from roughly my direction , same again pretty much straight away i shoot a guy my team mate goes down as well. New there was a sniper near me so i start to wheel round cagey stylie , next thing i'm looking down the barrel of Barret!!
Turns out the enemy sniper had taken up position lying next to me ( couldn't see me as i was cold blooded ) , pretty surprised we both jumped up and randomly tried shooting each other , never worked tried knifing each other that never worked , ripped out machine pistols and went mad with them , luckily i won.
Got a message from the guy along the lines of , how mad was that??
Which itself is refreshing as it's usually some form of hate mail.

Probably the worng place to post this, but the first time you pick up the energy sword in Halo 2. Soooo goood! Then combine that with active camo... even better!

Believe it or not, but it was back in the day playing HAZE.
The destruction pack had just been released, and like the Playstation trooper I am, I went out on a limb and bought it.
I grabbed some likeminded fellows who were in dire need of their FPS fix, and would literally pay anything, and apparently had £3.49 burning a hole in their PSN wallet, and we got to work on what would be a memorable evening.
Safe to say, we had to create a room... but after we had done so, the fun began. Especially, most memorably was the Uphill Struggle map.
If, by any sliver of hope any of you own Haze and the Destruction map pack, let me first congratulate you, then implore you to play this map again, with the brilliantly unique mechanics of Haze and it's rebels, and the wonderfully crafted Uphill Struggle map, and the layout of it, it gives one of the most frantic real feels to a video game I have ever played.
4v4, and started by blocking the entrance to the rebel base atop the hill with traps, and setting 2 snipers in the trees, whilst we kept one guy back with a standard rifle to resupply everyone from the cabin if needs be.
Because I'm such a loose cannon I took my favourite shotgun and throwing knives combo and darted down the hillside to take a close quarters recon approach to the cascade of Mantel troopers soon to be ascending the hill.
And this is where it got good, the map itself is one of my favourite mulitplayer maps I have ever played on, in any game. It's visceral quality and presentation really sets itself up for brilliant teamwork and a large mix of gun strategies.
The Mantel guys took a 2 - 2 approach to the bottom of the hill, keeping two behind the bunker scoping the top of the hill, and sending two guys further forward spreading out around the rock and keeping in as much cover as possible whilst climbing up the hill.
Then, on foul step of a mine, everything broke loose, it was almost like a scene from a 1960s Expendables, the very second an explosion went off, everyone started firing their weapons, and screaming down the mics doing their very best impression of one of the many stereotypical soldiers from a Vietnam movie.
It was hectic, and all down the hill was ripe with bullet holes and charred scars. However, I kept my wits about me, jumped behind the bunker in the ensuing chaos and dispatched the two snipers with two, Matrix-esque style knife throws.
I the proceeded to charge the remaining enemy who was making his way up the hill in a hail of bullet fire and grenade throws. Using my best war cry of "ROMAN!" I launched myself off a destroyed wooden embankment, and whilst in the air threw one knife into his nectar feeder, driving him insane, landed behind him in his drug fuelled frenzy and finished him off with a neatly places shotgun blast to the back of the head.
And like that it was over, literally, within 1 minute, all hell had broke loose, and was then settled again by some Guerrilla tactics only seen in Red Faction games.
The flow of the game, and the gameplay it utilised in that split gaming minute was something I have yet to enjoy since. And I doubt I'll ever do it as smoothly again.
