I agree that Bulletstorm was awesome. It was the game Duke Nukem should of been. Multiplayer was pretty poor though.

KZ3 and BF3 get my top votes. If outlook at the KZ website you would think it was the worst game on the planet. I've never come across such a bunch of crybabies in my life, all saying they ruined Killzone. I think it is awesome. The multayer is fast and hectic.

I skipped COD this year. Can't see myself buying another 'til they make a new engine. I bought Battlefield instead. It was my first Battlefield game and to be honest I think it dumps on Modern Warfare. I'm completely turned around on this game. The series will be my first choice in future.

how come your not considering uncharted 3 in this list? it is a shooter after all! Or you only considering war based shooters?

It's the same kind of "shooter" as Ratchet and Clank though - it's a different genre with shooting in. Extending that further, you could include Wipeout too...

yeah fair enough, then shouldnt deus ex not be in the list as its an rpg with shooting elements in it, ala mass effect? Just curious that is all.

KZ3 - by a long shot the best shooter of this year and fun to boot.

BF3 deserves a mention even though i am soo bad at it the controller is always close to being launched at the wall.....it does look lovely though...

I'm gonna mention Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 for my third game of choice and add that I won't be mentioning Battlefield 3 as I have yet to REALLY play that game.

I'd say this is definitely an "on" year for the franchise, as usual when it comes to Infinity Wards efforts. It's just one of the most addictive experiences out there, particularly in online.

You get folk who complain about the spawns and the fact that the maps are too small for sniping. Which I welcome by the way. But the game is fast and fluid and there's a massive community. I've always got someone on my friends list playing it who is cool with me partying up to them and going out there to cause mayhem.

I've taken a wee break from it to play Skyrim and Saints Row but you can bet that after I've finished whatever single player I'm on that I will return to MW3 post haste.

Can I list the original Crysis game?? I know it was out on PC  a few years back but the console version did only hit this year and I really enjoyed, couldnt put the pad down from start to finish.
