Getting in touch...

Hey everyone :smileyhappy:

This thread details the various ways in which you can get in touch with the community team. Take heed fellow gamers - the method of contact changes depending on what you are contacting us for.

We've split this post in to two sections: Moderation and Community. Mods at the top, community at the bottom.

Moderation - In Game:

Occasionally, fools spoil gaming. We know, it's rubbish and makes everyone feel like sad pandas.

If someone has intentionally ruined your game, there are ways you can let us know so that we can prevent it from happening again. Our moderation team have a wealth of tools and information available to them which, in short, gives them the power to smite the baddies in our community.

There are 2 ways you can contact us about another player's conduct within a game:

1. Use the in-game grief reporting tool

Most first-party (games published by SCE) titles have a grief reporting tool built into the game. This is the fastest and most efficient way of reporting another player - in-game reporting tools collect data from the game and send it to our mods, allowing them to quickly and easily see what has happened and what action is necessary.

This is especially important in PlayStation Home. Home has an extremely powerful reporting tool which provides us with all kinds of evidence! Use it by hitting select at any time whilst in PlayStation Home.

2. Use the PlayStation.com Reporting Form

If the game you're playing doesn't have an in-game reporting tool, you should find the following links most useful:

http://www.PS3reporting.com  for 1st Party PlayStation 3 Titles.

http://www.PSPreporting.com for 1st Party PSP Titles.

http://www.PS2reporting.com for 1st Party PlayStation 2 Titles.

http://uk.playstation.com/psn/support/grief-reporting/ for general PSN reporting.

Moderation - Forums and Blog

Sometimes, fools post stuff that really gets you angry. There's something extremely important you need to know here - if you get angry at someone else's post, you need to take a breather. Replies written in frustration do nothing to ease the situation, make more work for our mods and could land you in just as much trouble as the original culprit.

Once you've had a cuppa or whatever you do to wind down, report the post. We look at every single grief report made on the EU PlayStation Blog and on the Official PlayStation Community so your report will be heeded.

Please only ever use the 'Report Inappropriate Content' links found on every post to do this. Be sure to fill out the 'Additional Comments' form to let us know exactly what your gripe is. Don't PM a mod asking for a thread/post/comment to be removed, you will be ignored.

Know that we will only ever moderate posts in accordance with our House Rules, and we will only moderate comments in accordance with the PlayStation Blog Comment Policy.

Moderation - Other Stuff

People make mistakes. If you need a post edited, changed or moved - please send a moderator a PM. Your request wont be treated as urgent, so please be patient.

...Oh, and please don't PM Envisager about edits, changes or having a post moved.

Community - Account Management

You'll occasionally need to ask us stuff in private about your account. Before you do, know this: We can only ever discuss a PSN Account with its owner. Whenever you get in touch, you must do so by using your Account or the email address you used to create it. If we can't verify that you are the owner of the account you are enquiring about, we can't talk to you.

For account queries, you can reach us via email on community@uk.playstation.com

Note that this is only for English speaking European consumers, check your local language forum for details of how to reach the other territories.

NO SCEE MEMBER OF STAFF WILL EVER ASK YOU FOR YOUR PASSWORD. We never need it. If anyone asks you for your password do not under any circumstances give it to them, make a grief report about them instead.

Community - Prize Winners

Prize winners can reach us on the same address - community@uk.playstation.com

You'll need to provide us with your full name, PSN ID, Delivery Address and a link to the winners announcement here on the forums.

Community - Questions about PlayStation

If you've got a burning question about PlayStation products or services, but don't want to post a new thread - drop either MusterBuster or any of the moderators a PM and we'll try to help out. We wont always be able to answer due to workload or marketing restrictions (such as embargoed/confidential info), so don't be offended if we don't reply.

The accounts you can PM are: Envisager, Yaster, LordRoss and bambaroo

Community - Questions about the forum

Need help with our forum? You're in the right place. If you feel comfortable doing so, start a new thread in this board and ask for help. Our community consists of lovely people who wear flowers in their hair, especially in this area, so don't be scared!

If you don't want to start a new thread, drop a mod or MusterBuster a PM.

Community - Random Banter

Banter is important, but understand we don't always have time to partake. If you've spotted something hilarious you want us to see, would like to hurl casual slurs about the state of MB's pumpkin these days or want us to comment on something you've written - the best place to let us know is on twitter.

The community team all use twitterfox, and whenever you tweet at us it will pop up on our desktops! Send us a link to whatever you want to pester us with and we'll take a look when we get time.

You can reach us on: @Envisager_, @Yaster, @Lordross @bambaroo_ps @kloudshun @SuperFastZombie and @RabidWalker

So there you have it - oodles of ways to get in touch with us. Enjoy :smileywink:

Is it fair to add "Sony will never ask you for your password or email address" To that?, i could see people asking about a problem to do with something like changing their address, and blurting out their sign in info to you - Or isnt that a problem?

Also whilst i am at it, wouldnt this be quicker and more affective if you report your own thread/post for it to be removed or moved?, i have seen this suggested (officialy) and have found it alot more affective than spamming up an inbox with a pm
I mean after all, have something moved/removed is a moderation type thing, and submitting a report would be quicker
...Am i being too picky now?

Yes.

The problem with making a grief report that isn't actually a grief report is that, well - you mess up our stats :smileywink:

We collect information on how many grief reports are made each month, and the last thing we want is stats which tell us our community is worse behaved than it actually is. Please only use the griefing tools for exactly that: making grief reports.
