Help from Sony needed, please

My name is Catalin Iliescu and  I am from Bucharest, Romania, and I own a 40GB model PS3 (CECHG04) bought by me here in Romania. Unfortunately, my console got the dreaded YLOD and I took it to be serviced in the only place available to us here in Romania, one firm called JUSTIT SRL (www.justit.ro), that deals with, among other devices, with the PS3s. Also unfortunately, mine is out of warranty so I got an estimate of around 100EUR for it to be sent to... France to be fixed there. All these happened on January 28th of this year. At that time, they have told me that it would take a maximum of 30 days to get it back, probably less. As you can see, we are on March 17th and there is no news about my console, nor about its status. Well... It looks that SONY doesn't like Europeans too much, because the support on Playstation websites in Europe is all but missing. No email, no phone number, no repair status, nothing like that. The firm that received my PS3 in the first place has a very unfriendly policy towards its customers, and that is not very surprising, given the fact that they are the only service authorized to deal with the PS3s, so no other place to go for us customers :smileysad:. Mainly, they never call me, and when I do, they tell me, quite annoyed, to wait until it gets here. Today I had the latest chat with them and they said that they are unable to contact the firm in France that actually repairs it, not even via email, and that will probably arrive around 10th of April. That triggered in me the rage that makes me write so much in this message.

Please do me a favor and try to help me somehow, I don't know what else to do but learning Japanese and call Sony home. If there is any other details that you might need from me, please let me know. I apologize as well for my not so good English, I hope you have understood most of it. Thanks a lot for reading, and in advance for giving me support in this matter. All the best,

                                    Catalin Iliescu

Re: Help from Sony needed, please

that does sound like a nightmare :smileysad:

do you have the direct contact details for the company in France that are trying to fix it? it may be worth while contacting them direct to see where it is. Are JUSTIT SRL an apporoved Sony company or just an independent that fixes ps3's?

it does sound strange that they've had to send it out to France to get fixed.

hope you get it back soon, not sure what else to advise really. Someone else may have some ideas.

cheers.
