Image Upload FAQs

1.    How doez I uze it?

Much as before you simply click the Upload or Insert an Image button when creating a post, you will now see that you have 3 separate tabs –
•    From My Computer
•    From my Gallery
•    From Another Site

From My Computer

Select a file from your PC by using the browse button. When the image is uploaded you will see a preview of the image and an Insert Image button.

Add a title to you image if you desire (this will give the image a mouse-over title).

Click the Hide in gallery (private) tick box if you want don’t want the image to be publically viewable in you private gallery. Play around with Image Size settings and Image Alignment settings which relate to the image placement within your post. Finally click Insert Image button.

You should see a preview of all the images in you gallery. Simply click the image you wish to insert in your post. You will now see a preview of the image and an Insert Image button. Play around with Image Size settings and Image Alignment settings which relate to the image placement within your post. Finally click Insert Image button to place the image in your post.
From Another Site

Insert the URL of the image location. You will now see a preview of the image and an Insert Image button. Play around with Image Size settings and Image Alignment settings which relate to the image placement within your post. Finally click Insert Image button to place the image in your post.

2.    How do I report another user’s image?

If the image sits within a post you can simply continue to use the report abuse to moderator link much as before. However if you view an inappropriate image within a user’s Image Gallery on their profile then you can either:-

o    For reporting multiple images - highlight the images by clicking on the tick box above all the images you would like to report and select flag all checked images for review in the drop down image options menu.

Or

o    For reporting a single image - click on the image within the gallery to view it at its full size. Simply select flag image for review in the drop down image options menu.

This will place the image/s in a queue for the attention of a moderator who will then take the appropriate action.

3.    How do I upload an image to my Image Gallery.

Click on your PSN ID in the top menu bar. Scroll down and click View Image Gallery. From here you will see options to browse a file on your computer and upload it to your Image Gallery.

4.    How do I use an uploaded image from my Image Gallery as my forum icon/avatar?

Simple! Go to My Profile > Icons > Click here to choose an icon from your image gallery and select the image from your Image Gallery. The image will automatically resize to fit the icon settings and be immediately available as your new forum avatar.

Or

Go to your Image Gallery, click on the image and select Use Image as Icon in the Image Options drop down menu.

5.    How do I use an uploaded image from my Image Gallery as my forum signature?

Go to your Image Gallery, click on the image you want to use as your signature, right click the image and select Properties, highlight the address URL and copy it. Now click on My Profile and within the signature field enter the following code:-

6.    Who can see my Image Gallery?

Image Galleries are public so everybody and anybody who visits your profile on the Official Playstation Forums will be able to view your uploaded photos. If you select an image as private however, only you and our Community Team will be able to view this content.

7.    One (or more) of my images in my Image Gallery has the phrase Flagged for Review next to it, what does this mean?

Flagged for Review means that a user has deemed your image potentially inappropriate and has brought it to the attention of a moderator. Your image is still publically available at this time.

8.    One (or more) of my images in my Image Gallery has the phrase Rejected next to it, what does this mean?

Rejected means a moderator has deemed your image inappropriate and removed it from our servers. Please respect this decision and do not attempt re-upload the image as it may result in action taken against yourself.

9.    One (or more) of my images in my Image Gallery has the phrase Awaiting Approval next to it, what does this mean?

Awaiting approval means that a moderator will be viewing your image shortly. 

10.    I have this image in place of my original upload, what does it mean? –

This image means a moderator has deemed your image inappropriate and removed it. Please respect this decision and do not attempt re-upload the image as it may result in action taken against yourself.
