Need an edit?

[ Edited ]

Hey Folks,

Recently we've seen a few of you asking for your posts to be editted! So - I just wanted to come and clarify exactly how you can request an edit to one of your posts.

If you require an edit to a post you made and the edit timer (30 minutes since posting) has expired, please send a Private Message (PM) to a member of a moderation team with the following information:

1. A link to your post
2. The FULL TEXT for your updated post (send us the whole post as it should look once editted, so that we can copy/paste your text)

Please use the subject line "Post edit" when sending your PM.

FYI - The moderation team are:

Yaster, LordRoss, Bambaroo, Wretched_Hawk  and Kloudshun

Cheers!

Re: Need an edit?

Earlier, it was mentioned that the admin team was going to see if you could figure out a way to allow post editing.

How is this going and when can we expect to be able to edit?

Re: Need an edit?

If I remember correctly, when Moshii <3 was here she said they could see what the original post was before it was edited. Whether that was true or not I don't know.

If it were true, I don't see any reason why we shouldn't be allowed to edit posts no matter how old they are.

The problem we have is that when aa post is editted, it does not bump the thread.

Therefore, some malicious moron could stick kiddie porn in a 2 year old thread and we would be breaking the law and unaware of it. The thread wouldn't go to the top so we wouldn't see it.

Re: Need an edit?

I take it some kind of system couldnt be brought in, allowing all floated threads (Which will always be front-page) to be free of the editing time for the authors?

Also, i dont know if it's just that this thread was made before - But shouldnt the new moderators be in the team list? Though i'm not sure if they are in some other area of moderation, mind.

Re: Need an edit?

I've added Kloudshun, I'll wait to see if Mohawktown is part of this.

@east afraid that Lithium doesn't offer that option.

Totally agree on this one. Maybe request an option to lithium to "show posts edited within the last x hours/days"?
But the same goes for images from external domains, but those are allowed right?
Lets say I have a pictured linked http://public.mydomain.tld/cutebear.jpg and I replace it after a month with something sick. I modified my post but now without the board noticing.

Sure, totally understandable.

I still think you should be allowed to though, once there was a way were the moderation team could see a list of edits made within set days.
