Community and Game Awards FAQ

As you may have noticed, a few users have the title “Community Awards Winner” and a trophy icon alongside their avatars....

This means that they have been selected by our community as winners of a Community Award. This thread explains what the Community Awards are, what being a Community Award winner means and how you can get involved in this monster Community Event!

What are the Community and Game Awards?

The Community and Game Awards are an annual event which take place at the beginning of each year. During the awards, our community nominate the greatest games of the past year and also nominate their fellow forumers for various awards based on their contributions to the community.

How the winners are selected?

There are 2 stages to each Community Awards event. Nomination and Voting.

-          During the Nominations stage, community members nominate the game or community member that they think most deserves an award. The top 5 games/members nominate for each award go through to the voting stage.

-          During the Voting stage, community members vote for their favourite game/community member out of the 5 finalists. The game/member which receives the most votes wins the award!

Can I take part in the Community Awards?

Nominations are open to everyone with a PlayStation Network Online ID. Just sign in to our forum using your PSN Account to take part.

Voting is only open to established members of the Official PlayStation Community. The criteria for this is subject to change, however you must have been a member of our forum for 2 weeks in order to vote.

What happens if I am one of the Community Award winners?

If you're selected as a Community Award winner, then congratulations! The PlayStation Community thinks you're brilliant.

Community Award winners are given a special rank and a trophy icon next to their PSN ID on the forum. We also send out a few goodies to award winners to say "thank you" for their contributions.

Finally, the Community Team can send you some gifts to say thank for as well.

Well basically, a newbie can come in here at any time and wonder why on earth some members have "Community Awards Winner" under their name.

And the community awards forum isn't there all year round. It's good to have an FAQ to explain all.

Hey Buddy,

If you're trying to get your sig to work, pop into 'my settings' at the top right of the page. then paste the code into the 'signature' box - click save and it should then show up for you
