White Knight Chronicles

Was thinking of picking this game up yesterday but was unsure, the game is White Knight Chronicles. Wasn't sure on what type of game it was i know its a RPG game but is it more like FF game or more like fallout 3 game. Just wanted to hear from any one who's played the game and what its like as i asked the bloke in the game shop and he had no idea what the game was about or how it plays.

Re: White Knight Chronicles

Real-time JRPG.

More FF in it's style, but I guess a bit like fallout in terms of the real-time aspect of combat. Fallout certainly isn't a game I'd used to describe or liken it to however.

Available for about £25. Apparently not that great.......

Re: White Knight Chronicles

im not a rgp player generally but am well into this game. online is great. couldnt get into ff13 sent that back after a day. im ashamed to say im 160+hrs into this game but hey due to nature of gr and trophies you have to put the work in. i rent games play, then send back after a week or less. this game will be with me for many months. i love the quests some are are real crazy (bosses) not 1 not 2 but 3 at once sometimes !! if in doubt you can get as a free 14 free trial here and try out (uk). http://www.mygamegenie.co.uk/ i have used site for 5 months so recommend.

The combat is a bit weird at first (you have full control of your character during battles and can target different sections of the enemy if it's big enough but you have to wait after each attack) You can learn different attacks, which are set to each weapon type, when you gain enough skill points and then assign them to slots so you can use them in battle but the slots are limited and the majority of the attacks use action chips so you have to be careful at first when choosing

The story is kind of generic RPG stuff (princess gets kidnapped, peasent with hidden skills rounds up a team to go and get the princess back) but there's a few "surprising" twists in the story

The MP is fun to play with friends and you can create your own village if you want, although this uses up a lot of in game currency, by building houses/shops/job centered items and you can also "recruit" people from the game to live in your village and run things

It's a brilliant game and well worth picking up, it's a lot better than FFXIII imo
