WipEout Challenge: Can you beat Nakajima?

WipEout Pilot Ami Nakajima is searching for the toughest Pilots from across the globe.

Are you strong enough to beat her highest Zone score?

 

The challenge:

  • WipEout HD
  • Race type: Zone Mode
  • Track:  Moa Therma (forward)
  • Score to beat: 44 Zones

The Prize:

 

One of ten limited edition posters signed by Ami Nakajima:

How to win:

The Pilot with the Highest number of Total Zones Cleared will be awarded with the prize. Entrants must take a photo of the end game result immediately following the Zone to qualify.


Challenge Deadline:

Submit your entries in by the 8th February.

Specific Rules for WipEout Challenge Competition:

1.    The "WipEout Challenge” competition (“Competition”) is open to persons aged 18  years or over who are residents of Finland, France, Germany, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom (“Entrant Countries”) except employees of the Promoter and their immediate families, the Promoter's associated companies, their agents, or anyone else professionally connected with the Competition (“Entrants”).

2.    The Competition is open for entries on 25 January 2013 (the "Opening Date") at 09.00 (GMT) and closes on 8 February 2013 at 23.59 (GMT) (the "Closing Date"). The period from the Opening Date to and including the Closing date shall be referred to as the “Competition Period”.

3.    By entering this Competition Entrants accept and will be bound by these terms and conditions.

4.    To enter this Competition, Entrants must complete the following steps during the Competition Period:

a)    To enter the Competition, Entrants must purchase the computer/video game entitled "WipEout" for PlayStation 3 (the “Game”), at the usual recommended retail price.

b) Entrants must select the Zone Mode and the Moa Therma (forward) track in the Game, and must complete a zone session clearing as many zones as possible.

c)    Once an Entrant has finished a zone session, the Entrant must take a photo of their TV screen showing their accomplishments for that session.

d)    Entrants must go to htttp://community.eu.playstation.com/ and sign in to their SEN account (or if they do not have an account, register for a SEN account and then sign in), click on the “WipEout Challenge” competition thread (the “Thread”) and upload their photo to the Thread.


e)    Entries can be submitted in .PNG, .JPG, .GIF and .BMP formats, the size of an entry should not exceed 1000K.

f)    The winners of the Competition will be the Entrants who have achieved the highest number of "TOTAL ZONES CLEARED" in their Entrant Country (there will be one (1) winner in each Entrant Country).


g)    By entering this Competition Entrants are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions

5.    Registration for Sony Entertainment Network is subject to acceptance of the SEN Terms of Service and User Agreement and SEN Privacy Policy.

6.    Entrants may only submit one (1) entry and will only be eligible to win one (1) prize.

7.    Entrants must adhere to the General Rules and in particular, to sections 7 and 8. In addition, entries must not contain any
a)    pornography, nudity, or sexually explicit imagery;
b)    abusive, offensive or hateful imagery or language;
c)    harassing or defamatory content;
d)    content that compromises the privacy or safety of yourself or others;
e)    content that demeans a particular gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, ethnicity or nationality;
f)    violent or dangerous behaviour; and/or
g)    spam, advertising or other commercial activities.

8.    Entrants agree to grant the Promoter a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use entries for promotional purposes and for all the purposes related to the Competition, across all media including any online platforms under their control.

9.    All entries must be completely original so as not to breach any third party copyright. The Promoter accepts no liability if Entrants ignore these rules and Entrants agree to fully indemnify the Promoter against any claims by any third party arising from any breach of these rules.

10.    There will be a total of ten (10) winners, one (1) from each Entrant Country. The winner in each Entrant Country will be the Entrant who achieved the highest number of "TOTAL ZONES CLEARED" in their Entrant Country. In the event that the “TOTAL ZONES CLEARED” scores are tied, the winner will be the Entrant with the highest total “Score Record”.

11.    The Promoter shall notify the winners by email of their selection within two (2) weeks of the Closing Date of the Competition.

12.    Winners will have two (2) weeks to claim their prize.  In order to claim their prize, the winners must reply to the email received notifying them that they have won providing their name, date of birth and postal address.

13.    Each of the ten (10) winners will win a limited edition, unreleased A2 poster signed by Ami Nakajima.

14.    The prizes must be taken as stated and cannot be deferred.  There will be no cash alternatives, but the Promoter reserves the right to substitute any prize with a prize of a similar value.

15.    The Promoter cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any problem which may result in any entry being lost or not being properly registered.

16.    In the event of a dispute the Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.

17.    The Promoter reserves the right to cancel this Competition or amend these terms and conditions at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion or if circumstances arise outside its control.

18.    The Promoter will use reasonable endeavours to send the prize by registered post to each winner within thirty (30) days of receiving a winner’s details via email as described above.

19.    If the prize is found to be ineffective, faulty or damaged upon receipt, the Promoter must be notified in writing within seven (7) days of receipt, otherwise the prize will be deemed to be accepted as received. This does not affect your statutory rights (if any).

20.    The winner(s) agrees to take part in any reasonable publicity required by the Promoter.

21.    The Promoter may, at its sole discretion, publish each winner’s name on the Promoter’s website(s). Each winner’s name will be made available on reasonable request to those enclosing a SAE marked ‘WipEout Challenge Competition’ to the following address: Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Limited, 10 Great Marlborough Street, London W1F 7LP United Kingdom within six (6) weeks of the closing date specified above.

22.    If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions or incorrect, illegible, fraudulent or other invalid or improper information has been provided, the Promoter may in its sole discretion refuse to process an entry or fulfill any prize awarded.

23.    General Rules apply to this Competition.  Please click here to view the General Rules.

24.    The Promoter is: Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Limited, 10 Great Marlborough Street, London W1F 7LP United Kingdom.

25.    These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales whose courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

Just hit this after about 100 runs and 160,000 loyalty points earned. I've put at least another 25 hours into this game since this competition started!

Unlucky Drcheesy but as you have noticed, Husaria has come in the last second with a super performance just topping you to the winning position, Vettel style to steal the glory.

Yeah, thanks for doing the comp. Getting back into WipEout HD again has been very fun. I must admit, I wasn't expecting anybody to beat 91, and I was gutted when I saw that husaria had posted 92 with 5 minutes left! Now I know to never underestimate the competition! 

 

Well done on the win Husaria, and hopefully if another WipEout HD comp arises then you may not get so lucky!  ;-)
