Does anybody have any tips or tricks to becoming Hero or infamous? any help is really appreciated

I haven't got the game yet, but I suppose the biggest factor on how to become Hero or Infamous is how much you destroy things. If you're constantly killing and destroying, then you're going to be Infamous very quickly, but if you remain quiet and keep your head down, you're going to become a hero.

Also, it depends on the moral decisions. If you choose to do something that will benefit the citizens of Empire City, then you're going to become more heroic than if you were to help yourself which will make you more Infamous.

I'm still on the first island (and on the second of the three heroic ranks), and so far it seems like the "karmic decisions" in some of the main missions have a significantly larger impact on your karma than killing/saving civilians.

Heal a lot of people laying on the ground.

Kill reapers and dustbin men.
You get +5 xp for each standard kill. +5xp per heel +1 for standard restrain.

I got hero rank on second island. btw.
