Could someone please explain to me how useful it is playing infamous1 before infamous 2.? And also list the extra they give for it

I did play infamous 1 but no longer have the game saves. Will my trophies synced on PSN provide some of the bonuses you get for apparently playing the originial game or is the game save required?

I've also seen people mention importing trophies in infamous 2, what is this for?

You will get a choice to start as good or evil when you start Infamous 2. You will get some bonus karma for which side you choose, and some extra bettery cores and XP, depending on what trophies you earned. Details here: http://ps3.ign.com/articles/117/1170993p1.html

There is one thing about that link that is incorrect. The importing is done automatically. You will see a menu when you first start up the game asking if you want to continue as good or evil.
