10. Assassin's Creed 3.
Not played enough of AC Odyssey yet to make a decision yet and wasn't too keen on the original Assassin's Creed when I played it years ago on the XB 360, fair enough the first game of a franchise is usually a little rough around the edges but I couldn't get into it when it was free with AC Revelations.
Anyhow don't have to be a top just a list of AC games in order of preference.
AC Brotherhood
AC II
AC Revelations
AC Black Flag
AC Syndicate
AC Liberation
AC 3
AC Unity
AC1*
AC2 what a game! It started it off for me.
Ezio, Desmond, I fell hard for the WHOLE story, and wondering around those cities, stopping and learning about landmarks on the way.
Always felt weird that people hated the modern day stuff throughout the series, that DNA strand was part of the huge pull for me.
But Brotherhood takes it for the introduction and Rev scores high, because I was one of those weird folk that had many fun hours of AC multiplayer.
BF & Syndicate are pretty close tbh.
Syndicate felt fresh kicking bottoms quickly with Evi, and still had the finest of threads connected to the overall arc, and the cool character dude (forgot his name), plus Engerland ennit.
BF, I hated the ship stuff in AC3, but what feels like way into BF it finally clicked, stopped playing the MP at that point.
Mary Read 😍 and the Sage stuff.
AC3 bugs
Lib could've been cool and some bits were. The outfit change thingy annoyed me. Maybe let down by its hardware (would if have been a better game if it'd have been made for PS3?)
Actually I'm gona swap it with 3.
Screw you AC3!
Unity I played well after release (same with Synd) so it wasnt the buggy mess for me, but tbh I can't remember a darn thing about its story.
The coop could've been fun with friends kinda like an extended Wild Pack(?) MP mode from previous games..?
AC1
Only played a bit of the remaster thing that was packaged with one of em.
Felt too chunky, gave up.
I do wanna play Origins but I'm not feeling Odyssey from the slithers I've seen.
I need to go back to Unity for some 100% and co-op clean up.
I think @babaoriley3 is playing recently and I never get rid of games unless they really sux or I can't see myself playing again.
Playing co-op with random people can really dry your patience at times.
@WinniePOnly got the co-op sync kills and the training trophy left for the platinum, let me know if you fancy a game one day.
The thing that lets Unity down the most is how everyone in 18th century France speaks with an English accent.
@mont348I think I have similar online trophies to do and then 100% sync, so anytime apart from Red Dead Redemption 2 release day.
@babaoriley3Anyone played Chronicles? Got it sitting here, never tried it.
Not played any of the chronicles are they actually proper games or graphic novels?
Have you still got a working PS3? *Cough* wouldn't mind earning the Brotherhood online trophies one day.
@WinniePI thought they were like a side scrolling thing?
Nope 😭 I'd love to get AEOTM. Tried it legit a thousand times and refused to cheat it, think I even ended up trying to sort it with someone years later.
@mont348XD
After one of our last PS3 fixing chats i spent ages looking for the MiddleSlim, finally found it in the loft a few weeks later.
The disc drive literally crunched 😂
Haven't tried any recent fixes to get the Phat to find any network.
They sent it back never being able to connect to any lan or wifi
@mont348I have a Phat 40GB (320GB WD HDD) that was YLODing at start up when cold which was killed off after a house fire upstairs. Replaced the PSU now it's back to a temperamental YLOD start up, think blow torch and thermal paste job.
@WinniePSeems they (third party warranty) fixed my temps. Sure we ran it as a bluray player for a bit.
@mont348I actually own three PS3's two upgraded 12GB Superslims and my life support Phat, eldest daughter has one of them. Will I see it again ? Will I *beep* lol.
@WinniePCheesed off I was such a cheap skate and should have grabbed a supperslim before they'd stopped selling new ☹️
@mont348Cex offer 24 months warranty on a used system.
I was after a Vita earlier this year and used was the only option, few scratches on the back buffed out instantly with a Dremel polishing pad, still 14 something months left.
@WinniePIt is tempting but being boring and practical ,I haven't the room for one in here, and my box room is at the bottom of house DIY ☹️
@mont348I loaded up chronicles, thought it looked good but was slightly fiddly in places, then got to a bit where it crashed 3 or 4 times. Deleted it meaning to download and try again but learning the buttons and abilities again has put me off.
Until the crashes I was reasonably impressed with the re-interpretation though.
@WinniePThis is a hard one. I started making my list and all of a sudden the list didn't make sense. I like them all for different reasons. Each one pulls you into the story and each one has a slightly nuanced playing/ combat/ questing style. Obviously there are some repetitious questing that needed to be done. The ability trees grew on me and the leveling was enjoyable. The premise of the stories is mind blowing and I continue to love these games.
I'm currently adventuring in Odyssey and the gameplay is once again extremely engaging. Odyssey is growing on me and I am considering it as the #1, but that doesn't mean I deem all the preceding titles as worse - except for the Chronicles, which wasn't my cup of tea.
Lovin' the Odyssey!
