Call of Duty: WWII

Earlier this year it was said that Call of Duty would be taken back to its roots by Slegehammer Games. I posted about it here. Over the weekend some screenshots have leaked for a game named Call of Duty WW2. Including a steelbox case. Looks like Call of Duty is finally going back to being a good game  .. Hopefully.

Of course this could be fake until Activision says otherwise.

The leak is by the same guy who did Infinite/MW remastered leak so i reckon so, given we know it's 'going' back to it's roots.

(on a slight side note I've heard the Infinite campaign is actually really solid but I'm not sure if I can be bothered to try lol )

Interestingly CoD dev teams have a 3 year cycle so in before they are copying BF1 by going back (yes WW1/2 is different but you know what I mean) Since they would of been working on this Idea for a while already.

Hmm. Potential. The last great CoD of MW1 but I have many memories of CoD2 on PC. They even had tanks and jeeps in MP.. :D

Glad it is going back to WWII.

I liked Infinite Warfare, the campaign was fairly solid, but it is all this this jet pack and boost jumping malarky that I dont like.

It was so good to play MW Remastered and just get back to a basic shooter online. Going to be interesting to see this one in action.

Sledge Hammer games in 2014 - "I think a next generation game with the latest production values and robustness in a World War II setting like Band of Brothers would be amazing," Michael Condrey says.

I saw something on weekend and thought the name was a joke.. oh well.  @LoudZombie yeah the Infinite warfare SP is pretty good.

@Reidzer-N7 At least the jetpacks are less powered than the Advanced Warfare, it killed me off had to play MP using classic not boosted modes.  It played into the scuff controllers hand.

I've enjoyed the recent COD's and I enjoyed Infinite Warfare, I played it for about a month but then I fancied a game on COD 4 remastered...I haven't played Infinite warfare since December.

I don't think that I've touched the single player for a couple of years.

Here's another leaked image

Wider shot of previously-revealed ‘Call of Duty: WWII’ case confirms Stronghold code name leak

This new image shows that Activision appears to be testing out different logo and artwork placements for a Call of Duty: WWII steelbook case, presumably for Collector’s Editions of this year’s game.

This new angle of the artwork shows the text “Stronghold Steelbook” at the top. This wording links back to a leak from November 2015, which suggested that Call of Duty 2017’s codename was ‘Call of Duty Stronghold.’

Since last week’s news, IGN and EuroGamer have since confirmed with their own sources that Call of Duty: WWII will be this year’s title.

Activision has not commented yet on the leaks. No information is available as of now for when to expect the reveal for this year’s game, although Call of Duty titles are usually revealed in April-May timeframe.

I'm intrigued. I like the artwork, even the name to a degree. I'll be much more open to a WWII-based Call of Duty game. At least if they perhaps do a good job putting the story into actual historical events of the WWII. To my shame I bought Infinite Warfare and did not like it very much, couldn't even be bothered to finish it because I knew whatever was in store was not going to be able to top Titanfall 2. Before that, the last COD I bought was Modern Warfare 3, which was an alright game.

Year I love the idea of WW2 after having this futuristic stuff for so long, and tbh COD has been the best at it. That's why MWR has been brilliant!

I go past every that every day on the train - I'm sure the latest ad was for the Galaxy S8 but I'll check tonight on the way home.

Just had a walk round there and you are half correct. The Galaxy S8 is taking up some of the space but COD has the prime space as you are coming off the bridge.

@davum Book me in for lunch one Friday
