Hello PlayStation Community!

What a glorious year we have seen so far over here at PlayStation headquarters: there were the announcements of PlayStation 4 and several new awesome and exciting upcoming titles, the launch of such great titles like God of War: Ascension and The Last Of Us and many more.. and there is so much left to come! You can’t imagine how excited we all are for the next months!

Hence, we have decided that it’s the perfect timing to celebrate a little and of course you are all invited and more than welcome to join us!

Ladies and gentlemen – it is time to Celebrate PlayStation!

Obviously, we want to celebrate our present and future as well as our past with YOU and what better way to do this than with a nice trip down memory lane!

We have several weeks ahead of us of great celebrations, events, contests and much more so you should definitely keep your eyes peeled on the official PlayStation Forums, Facebook, Twitter, PlayStation.com and even the PlayStation Store! YES! You’ve read that right! Of course, there’s no PlayStation party without a great deal of discounts for your consoles to celebrate gaming in the best way possible!

For those of you who are active on social networks, make sure you follow our official hashtag #playstationmemories and get involved spreading the love!

The first 2 weeks will be dedicated to our origins, the great PSOne!

We have prepared a great deal of discounts on PSOne Classics which you can access here.

You can also use this as an inspiration for our PSOne Video Game Wars– we are keen to find out which PSOne title you choose as the best PSOne game of all time! So make sure you click here and nominate and vote for your favourite!

Then we will move on to PS2, PS3 and also PSP and PS Vita! We won’t tell you too much about what we have planned to celebrate these contents just yet though but we promise it’s going to be a lot of fun!

> > >

So get your party hats on, start your consoles and keep an eye on our forums! Let’s celebrate PlayStation and our #playstationmemories!

We’re looking forward to this great PlayStation summer and hope you do so too!

Your PlayStation Community Team

Wasn't sure where to put this as it could've went into any number of threads here on this board but I'll put it here.

Does anyone know what the original launch titles were for the playstation in Europe? Just something that I'm curious about.

Someone might need to check this out but if I'm not mistaken:

Battle Arena Toshinden

Street Fighter the Movie

Wipeout

Ridge Racer

NBA Jam TE

And a 2D side on platformy game the name of which escapes me.

I can't believe I missed this board. I was so obsessed with making my website that I didn't see this board! :(

Since I hardly know anything about the PS1, i'm gonna skip this :(

If we are going to celebrate the playstation 1 then surely we should have more games on the playstation one classics.

Where's Quake 2? Dino Crisis 1/2?

and many more.

I have seen these games on the US store and the Japanese store too.

Can one of the mods please let me know why we in Europe or the UK are not allowed these for some reason?

So my most favourite memory of the PlayStation would have to be when i was a kid and used a PSX for the first time (thats right thats PS ONE) i put the game in the disc tray closed it shut and pressed POWER! the very first PlayStation symbol that comes on with that corny PlayStation start up noise thats what i always remember thats really old PlayStation noise.

PS2 was when Pro Evo was at it's best and kicked FIFA's ***** every year.

A game I also loved mainly because it was a bit different was Full Spectrum Warrior. SOCOM was awesome as well. Also had one of my favourite FPS games with BLACK

My first PS2 memory (and game for that matter) was Level 5's awesome RPG Dark Cloud. I remembered how incredible it was, with the attention to detail Level 5 put into it and how it introduced the ability to power-up your weapons instead of your team mates. After that, Level 5 perfected it in Dark Chronicle & Rogue Galaxy (both great games in their own right)!

Another memory was when I first played the Ratchet & Clank demo. I had a really good feeling that they would go far (just like I did with Spyro) and look at them now - 4 on PS2, 2 on PSP and 5 on PS3 (with a 6th on the way)! Looking forward to an exclusive one on Vita and a really BIG one on PS4!
