It's almost time! Detroit: Become Human is out this week.
As I'm sure we're all aware, the story is based on the decisions you make throughout the game. So thought it would be good to have somewhere to talk about the choices you make.
We all play games at different paces, and some come in later than others, so to avoid major, unwanted spoilers, can we please say which scene we are talking about, and also use the spoiler tag to post the decisions we've made. (For anyone unaware of where to find that, see below)
I don't know about others, but I for one would like to be able to come in here and talk about parts of the game I have played, and choose not to see what decisions (and consequences) I will be left with later in the game
Remember - Your choices will determine the fate of a city.
The Hostage (demo) - I've played this a few times with different choices and endings
Another play
I had some more playthroughs with different choices and endings, but that will do for now.
How about you? How did you play this scene? Happy with the way it went?
I'll be sure to kill all my characters as soon as robotically possible.
It's a David Cage game, so I assume that will be at least 30 hours in :p
*Mobile users will need to switch to 'Destop View' to post spoiler tags 😉🤐
Got the mrs to play the demo. Her first play finished "meh 'sall right ennit" *shrugs*
Sees spider diagram, "Oww... I can have another go?"
Had a second n third play through "so when we getting this then?".
Questions for those that have rummaged through all the info.
Will the full game show you the diagram after each scene?
Will it let you repeat scenes from the off, or will you have to do the whole playthrough before having the option to change your decisions?
Bloody forum. Forgot the mobile sux (even though I spent a lot of time between mobile and PC fixing this thread when I broke the forum ) #BlameLithium
Anyway, I don’t think the answers to those questions has gone out from Quantic Dream, but I haven’t read any of the reviews yet either so one of them might answer it.
@WinniePSeems like the mrs wants to replay chapters straight away but that sounds like cheating to me.
Shirley it forces you to play at least one full playthrough?
Although that also means one HUGE flow chart?
From @Syph33r 's professional 😏 review
"If you think that you’ve made the wrong decisions in your first playthrough, a Flowchart feature has been added for you to check whether you’ve unlocked other dialogues and possible endings. A great feature of it is that you don’t have to replay the whole chapter again. You can simply go back to a specific checkpoint and start off from there. It’s a nice add-on to have especially with a big interactive game like Detroit. If only Telltale Games has this for their games, then it would really be convenient."
@WhiteMonkey88Yeah I won’t be replaying the scenes until I finish it. I want to see how MY story plays out. Not go changing it.
But that part of the review sounds like you can go back to any previous part at any time, even on the first play
@WinniePDunno if you guys have played any of the Zero Escape games. But they do a similar thing of allowing you to skip along a flow chart showing all the possible endings, scenarios you missed. Hoping it's something similar.
@WinniePZero Escape required you to skip all over the flowchart as part of the story though. You needed information from certain paths and endings, to unlock the next one. Especially VLR.
I feel like this won't have that kind of style, but will let you jump back to a previous decision and start the story again from there
@Syph33rYep!
I just meant the mechanic of allowing you to select specific junctions and skip right to it. As a lot of times these games have a lot of the same scenes (so maybe a skip feature for things that are the same) so you can just view new content.
It's always a bit of a pain to go back, change one decision, experience much of the same game for a few hours just to see one change later on.
I feel would be better to go right to those points.
Something I just read says you see the flowchart after each scene, showing where the story can branch in another direction (obviously everything you haven't seen is blocked out for spoilers reasons), with the ability to go back and select a part of that scene to complete the other path(s) as you go. Or change your story going forward.
@WinniePNow that I’ve started playing and looked around the game a bit.
The flowchart will be displayed after each scene, but only the choices in that scene, not the whole game. At that point you can’t go back to a decision.
If you go back to the main menu, you can see the full game flowchart, broken down into each scene (that you’ve unlocked) and from there you can see each individual scene and jump to the major parts of the scene to replay them.
You have an Android (Chloe) assistant in the menu and from what she says, it sounds like if you replay a scene (or part) with different choices, that will overwrite your story and change what you were going to get.
@WinniePMy choice is to not buy it
Did this review leak early or something? http://n4g.com/news/2171687/detroit-become-human-review-machines-feel-too-you-know-score-attacks
Guess that they wanted the clicks
For me the demo was good but there was very little choice in what happens.
If i want to save the bad guy i should be able to
If i want to carry on looking for clues i should be able to.
If i want to walk away and leave swat to it i should be able to.
If i want to enter gun drawn i should be able to.
It is also the age of lifelike ai machines. Where are the emp bullets to tranquillise droids?
I should be getting feedback from the snipers, helicopters and swat. Where they should be asking if to move up or take the shot.
