5 reason to get excited about DiRT Rally 2.0
DiRT Rally 2.0 will take you on a tour of the most challenging and beautiful off-road racing environments in the world. Whether it’s the twisting technical stages in New Zealand, the narrow, rocky dangers of Argentina, or the fast and flowing sandy stages of Poland, you’ll need to work hard to keep your wheels on the road.
DiRT Rally 2.0 is the official licensed game of the FIA World Rallycross Championship and will launch with the first eight rounds of the World RX Championship! It only gets better though – after the game releases we’ll be dropping more circuits into the game as the season progresses.
Players will also be able to commandeer the Audi S1 RX and the Volkswagen Polo R for the first time in game – and with an acceleration of 0-100kph in less than two seconds (that’s faster than an F1 car!), they offer some serious horsepower to tame.
We’ve had a secret weapon in our arsenal for DiRT Rally 2.0 – and that weapon is real life rally driver and off-road esports champion Jon Armstrong. He’s been with us in the development studio every day, helping us tweak and finesse the new handling model for maximum authenticity.
Rally driver Jon Champion has also been working with the development team to capture that real life rally feeling too, so we’ve got some experienced high calibre experts helping us on our handling.
Not only do we have some brand-new rally cars as well as some returning classics, but we’ve also added a completely new class to proceedings. The brand spanking GT class brings some serious muscle to the DiRT games, with tarmac-attacking beasts like the 911 RGT Rally Spec joining the ranks of the rally icons you all know and love.
While we’re super excited to get DiRT Rally 2.0 into players’ hands in February, the fun doesn’t stop there. We have big plans to provide on-going support to the title, whether that be through cars, tracks, or community requests! It’s an extraordinarily exciting time for off-road racers, and we hope you can join us for the road ahead.

The devs had a lil chat and gave us a look at the game today..........
Think I'll leave this one for the influencers(🤮) and gaming professionals
Been struggling for excitement for this, and was hoping the vid might gee me up, but unfortunately not.
I down with the sim handling but I don't think my heart or sanity can take gearbox or engine failures on the 12th stage again.@RenegadeXtreme
Needing more details. But yeah, getting to hype levels.@WinnieP
Just when I was considering maybe changing my mind and picking it up (mainly for RX)
I then saw the headline for this article (haven't read it)
"Youll have to manage your damage a little better than before"
The more real the better for me. I just hope there's enough proper rally in the game to interest me. A lot of focus has shifted towards RX which admittedly is great fun. But I was hoping for just pure rally stages and keep the RX to DiRT 5.
Really wanted VR support too. But I doubt that's happening. I also need my wheel to be compatible for this one too.@WinnieP
Maybe if I had a rig I wouldn't be bothered as much, but "Manage your engine or gear box" with an automatic DS4 just didn't work for me.
"Manage..." might as well have been, "pointless carrying on, no matter what you do it'll blow up eventually".
Tbh I still don't get why they couldn't have left the DiRT4 slider in for us non leets.
The full sims still get what they want, and can still run in the online pro series? 🤷♂️
Shame about the lack of VR. They never did patch it into 4 did they?@RenegadeXtreme
I had to keep using the more arcade handling when racing with others on DiRT4. And I had to use my controller as it took about 10 months for it to get patched. But most had already moved on by then.
Yeah, DiRT4 didn't get VR support added. Codies said they would add it if there was enough interest. They've said the same thing for DiRT Rally 2.0. But I guess it's not a financially viable and worthy option.
I'm still looking forward to the game though.@WinnieP
You know if its back to stages to learn now, or randomly generated ones?@RenegadeXtreme
I believe it's back to the normal type of stages we can learn.@WinnieP
Hmm interesting 🤔
"Achieving progression through the various rungs (or tiers) can be done in any of the title’s cars so you can achieve success with a low powered front wheel drive car if you want to steer clear of some of the trickier rear wheel drive monsters."
List of supported wheels thanks to TeamVVV
Yay! My wheel is on the list.@WinnieP
