I was looking on the internet and found this, here is a link

It says the last episode was on 6th of July and I just got a new subscription, what will happen now, will I get a refund or not, can you find out what will happen please

Well that is another thing not to look forward to now in the shop i would have liked to know why they are closing it down as it was one of the best ways to get a first look at games that are about to be released with it being a weekly thing unlike the normal mags which are more monthly.

I think they should have made it free with ps+ like the American equivalent of QORE. Subscribed for the first year but must say the content went downhill. 

That said actually checked out Qore, cannot even compare it to first play on its worst day... As long as content is good, dnt mind paying for it

Had a refund come through this week for paying to much for beyond good and evil, this refund took over a month to happen so expect to wait two or three weeks yet to get our firstplay refund.

and fanboi's will shed emo tears on a forum.

 

not that i'm a free loader but it was awful.   everything they showed was out of date and/or available free on youtube or a gaming website. even their "exclusives" were misleading and were often just delayed uk content. 

 

qore is decent and worthy of payment.  firstplay was little better than 'pulse' ... which is free.

 

its very difficult to produce a weekly magazine nowadays as the interweb provides an unprecedented amount of information that's instantly accessible and on demand.

 

anything sony produces needs to have a niche and have real exclusives as well as some form of value added content rather than regurgitated information.

I didn't receive this email either. 2 days after the last episode I was charged another 90 days! Well I hope we will have a refund soon. I haven't received the one from Beyond Good and Evil HD yet, I paid it overpriced and I haven't seen any refund yet, It's been nearly a month!

I'm actually happy to see this. FirstPlay wasn't really going anywhere and this new direction will hopefully put them back on track, not to mention being more mainstream and have a larger audience.

My membership was automatically renewed on the 4th July. I had no idea they had pulled the plug until I decided to google it today to find out why new episodes hadn't been on PSN for the last two weeks. What a shame, I enjoyed my weekly dose of Playstation news and think that the Firstplay team did an excellent job.

 

I've not had an E-mail about this and would like to know how and when I will get a refund. Anybody else in the same boat? Has anyone actually had a refund yet?

The format of this is great just ashame about the content, mainly the ads. They were annoying.

In a strange way I am glad that it's gone and in another I'm not.

So what is this new project called?

PSZ,
PlayFirst,
The Wire,
Play Right,
Move It,
PSNews,
PSNow,
PSLive,
PSReviews.

Thinking about it more, the more I think the new project will be on the blu-ray in the monthly mag.

its not going to be on Blu-ray, since its a free alternative to firstplay and putting it on disk will cost sony quite a bit of caaaash.

 

as for the name of the new service...hmmm, good question.

 

Since its a PS "news" publication the name will have to suggest the service is at the very forefront of the PS world.  The USA service "pulse" is a good name.  One could interpret it as sony having their fingers on the pulse of the gaming world...zing

 

so following this line of thought, my guesses are as follows:

 

- Connekt (with a K because im hip and down with the youth....init)

- Wired

- Front Line

- Alert!

- The Switch

- Network

- Target

- Plugged

 

There is no question about it, my product naming skills are not missed in the marketing world!

I never received an e-mail about this, but my subscription was renewed and I got episode 64 (which was the last one) and future decide to close it down.  I hope I get a refund for this.  This new free service will still have adverts I bet, hopefully it will have a lot better content on it.  I think they should do it monthly instead of weekly as there isn't enough content to get out week after week
