Don't forget, if missed out on one of the 16 places on the grid. You can still sign up as a reserve driver. And also join us for our weekly Community Night every Wednesday at 20:00 UK Time.
Nah... Fuel was oki.... had a quick look at the Fuel Gauges in other cars... the Lancer was doing great on Fuel.. some of those other cars seem quite thirsty.. especially Rens!!!
Wasn't going to stop but unforeseen circumstances intervened..
Did a race in an Open Lobby the night before.. and that tactic of Non-Stopping worked very well actually.. Pit Stopping was taking roughly 30 seconds out of the Race Time.(a little shy of 30 seconds but you have to slow down to get into the Pits and speed up coming out)... I came across the line around 30 seconds after Tassie even after getting caught out with Smokey and having also to do a Stop... so who knows..
I have to thank PD for that Setup.. the Base Setup was pretty good.. I didn't change much from their original Settings. Just minor adjustments to the Aero, Gearbox, Diff and Anti-Roll Bars.. everything else was standard..
Oh yeah the actual fuel amount was more than fine.
The Supra kind of needs short shifting anyway so saves on fuel too.
It was more that the diamond during pit/refuel normally shows what fuel it thinks you need until the end of the race. For some reason the diamond was showing that I'd need to put a touch more in to take it to around 14.5 laps even though there were only 7 left.
The number at the bottom said I had 14 laps worth remaining which is more than enough to reach the end with 7 to go, and this was just short of the diamond still.
I never looked at the Gauge... just hoped that the Lobby was set up the same as the Practice Lobby and the Fuel was oki
I'm quite happy with everyone else Refuelling.. makes the stops longer LOL
But.. yeah.. that Supra does drive pretty good with Short Shifts..
I'm only in the Lancer because I first thought it was the GR.4 version. Plus some of the other Cars were already taken by the time I Signed up.. The Porsche would have probably been my choice.. it's very handy on most of the Tracks..
At some point I'm going to have to do some more tinkering with the Settings.. the Base Settings are good, but can only hope that it can be improved on..@PhoeniX-J-five
Especially mine? My car wasn't thirty on fuel. I was running on stalk setup, so gearbox was too long. When I stopped with 4 laps to go. I still had 8 laps of fuel left. Others were having to refuel though. But not me@S2N-Ava
My Race Report
I'll try keep it short...............
Came in to the session with stock set-up and about half an hour practice the night before. Car has been fighting me since the January update. But still getting good pace out of it.
I put in a banker lap on the first attempt to pop me on pole for a bit. I was a lot faster on the second attempt. But I lost over half a second when I messed up the last sector. So only took a few tenths off the time. I seemed to get a lot slower after that. The car just wasn't happy with the lighter fuel load I guess.
Pole was definitely achievable. But had to settle for 3rd on the grid.
Bob was more kind to me than Evil up ahead I think. Got a good run down the straight and up the inside under braking for first corner. I was then behind Tassie for the rest of the lap. Then passed him same place on the next lap. I started to pull away on the softer tyres. But they fell off the cliff pretty quickly. Car was understeering everywhere and Tassie was pressuring me behind. I forget if it going wide through Schumacher S or deep at first corner Tassie got passed. But I lost a lot of ground after that. With Evil close up behind as I made my first stop end of lap 5.
The second stint was fairly uneventful. Had clear road ahead of me. And everyone ahead stopped at end of lap 7. Which bumped me up to 1st for 3 laps. I managed to hold around 3 second lead for a few laps. But it started to drop as the tyres went a bit poo again. I enter the pit from the lead at end of lap 10.
Fresh set of tyres. Sitting in 5th place. 4 laps to go with Ava and PJ5 several seconds up the road. Up to 4th after Ava's coming together with another a car. Then passed PJ5 the next lap. I was closing down Evil. Got the gap down to 2 seconds. But the best of the tyres were gone by then. Finishing in 3rd place.
I enjoyed the race. I think the 2 stop strategy would have worked. But I didn't know PD had finally sorted out the pit-stops. So they take quite a bit longer now. Plus I really needed to be in first after first corner.
Congrats to Tassie on the win. Thanks everyone for the race. Hopefully see you all next week.
As much as a handful and twitchy as all heck the Supra is, it still has some time there somewhere.
Think I had enough pace to maybe harass Evil in the race, but I stupidly dropped out to pits in qualy 10 mins early to change to hard tyres, and ended up with a fuel tank and not enough time left to jump Ava. That proved kind of costly really.
Couldnt get by her butt in the race at all. I was constantly catching in the wrong place as the evo had good traction out of corners.
Had a nice battle out of it trying to harass her though, mainly popingp out to see the braking spots. 😁
Think my car had slightly more overall pace, so I sat back for a lap to save up tyres for an attack run and eventually got by as her tyres dropped. Evil was long gone by then though too.
The battling also allowed Ren to have more time on me at the end, dropping me a position.
The car was awful after the pitstop though too. No idea what that was about. Was trying to spit me off everywhere with the tiniest touch of the throttle. Bloody thing 😁
Wd Tass. Nice pace on the hards there
Good day to you fellow members of the grid. It's week 2 of the OPC Racing GT3 Championship. We are back in Italy for 14 laps of the Autodrome Lago Maggiore GP track. I hope you've got you're cars adapted from last week, and got race strategy sorted. Or maybe you are just going to wing it. Either way, hope you have a good race.
Lobby opens with practice / qualifying starting at 20:00 UK Time
Race starts at 20:30 UK Time.
A lil reminder of the grid. Any new drivers are free to sign up. Just pop name next to the car you wish to use for the championship
Just gong to 'Wing it' as you say...
Not much point to creating a Setup to be honest..
With people running cars at least 2-3 seconds quicker per lap on the same Tyres.. Over a Race Distance, that is one FREE Pit Stop. Only myself to blame.. if you don't put in the practice, you never get any quicker.
My new outlook is to just Race.. forget everything else..
Just enjoy the racing and hopefully have no contact or ruin someone else's race. If I can nick a few position.... so be it.. if not.. no sleep lost.
Maybe being 'Anna' has mellowed me a little.. 'Ava' used to get really upset when things went wrong.@RenegadeXtreme
I'm in the same boat as last week anyway, so maybe similar times again. Not touched the track since last week, but hopefully I'll not end up staring at your backend for a whole race again. No offence 😁@GT-Anna
I could write a different Slogan on the Back PSML@PhoeniX-J-five
I'm jumping on shortly.
Need to see how many laps my car can do, and come up with some sort of race strategy.
Doubt I'll be making any changes to the car, except for the gearbox.
It seemed pretty good around this track when we had a quick go after last weeks race.
So I'm not sure there much to improve on it for this race anyway.
Anyone else getting this? Six hours a day sometimes. Its ruining my ratings.
Nope, I never get that thankfully. Everything has been pretty stable my end for a good few months.@racing-t-gt
I do alot. When i do connect if you look left where race chat appears youll see before chats appear yellow text saying . . . . Has left the room when it happens to other races.
Oki... Race 2 finished..
What can I say about this race... as Paul Daniels would say.. 'Not a lot'
Kinda boring race to be fair.. Car was not competitive in any shape or form.. Top end speed was dismal, kinda slow and the corners were not as gripping as the week before..
So, spent most of the race alone just doing Hot Laps, once the chasing group had died off..
There goes one of my shortest Race Reports ever..
Onwards we go!!!
Anna the mellow driver.... bye bye Ava.. was fun knowing you.. but you are Sacked!!
5th was a good result@GT-Anna
To keep the lancer evo or wrx fast top end you need to shift up early to keep turbo boost on. Remember these are rally bred cars, they are made for cornering, hence their style and look of aerodynamics. They wipe the floor with any gr3 in corners if you can learn them. I do and i wont race basic gr3 cars anymore, wrx is the fastest on suzuka and brand hatch by far
Think I started 5th as well which was a little surprising, considering how slow the car seemed to go down the long Straight.
I was actually waiting for WESTIE to pass somewhere.. but it never happened!! We had a few good laps Defending and Fighting.. then it all settled down..
Would be great if I knew how to set up a car... this game doesn't seem to be very helpful with the settings that you change.. majority of the time, I make things worse than the actual Base Settings.. GT6 was a lot easier to understand.
Base Settings are not too bad really... And that's what I'm really using with just a Diff change, Aero and Gearbox Settings.. My Box was kinda pants this week... should have put some mileage into the game.. so, totally my fault if the car don't work.
Considering that I'm racing with Drivers rated higher than me.. I'm not doing too bad really..
