It's been 3 days now that I try to play online and every time I cannot enter in the match.
I do the qualifying, the time ends and then I'm stuck in the track with the "preparing the match" writing there.
I'm basically inside the qualifying infinitely, with no possibility of going out or procede. Every time I have to close the application.
Has anyone else encountered the same problem?
Seen a number of players experience this issue. It's usually one of three things. Either your internet connection. Or the issue is on the server side of things due to heavy traffic. Or there's a conflict between your connection and the server. But most cases it's the users internet. I've not seen any widespread reports of a server issue recently.
What sort of internet speeds are you getting? Are you wired or wireless? How many other devices are connected to your router? Are you able to connect ok in Lobby mode?
I've had it on the odd day where my speeds have just dropped right down and I've not been able to connect to a race. Restarting the router and deleting temp date in-game usually fixes things if the problem is my end.
I'm wired, 20mbps download, 3 mbps upload.
Always played with this connection and never had any problem...
I had a few problems yesterday connecting to the lobby but then solved, the problem remains with the other online games.
How do I delete the temp in-data game?
20mb download is a bit on the slow speeds nowadays. But should be sufficient enough to play online. Although it can fluctuate.
Options > Network > Click on Delete Temporary Data.@WhiteShark90
20Mbps down is a bit on the slow side?! I think that is well above average for the UK and should be more than sufficient for online gaming. 3 up is quite low though, but should be ok(ish) for GT Sport?
Youth of today, don't know their born, with their super-fast fibre broadband...
This time a year ago, I was lucky if I was getting double figures for download and was often around 1.5Mbps. Playing online games was sometimes like watching a powerpoint presentation, with the amount of lag and rubber-banding.@RenegadeXtreme
Yeah, 20 is just above the UK average. Which is around 16. But that's still lagging quite a bit behind the rest of the world. And is only really ideal for downloading music/films and watching streaming service. Although even streaming on Netflix recommends a 20mb connection for 4K streaming, and 10mb for HD. Above the recommended is obviously better. Something like multiplayer gaming. With all the data going both ways, is going to require more to get a good quality experience. Racing games online are notorious for data.
You're right with the upload. 3 upload is quite low. Think at least 2 is required to play online. But 6mb is recommended to get a lag free experience.
20 down and 3 up should still be ok to play GT Sport online. But you will most likely experience a drop in performance. Although it's likely other players will see you lagging, rather than you seeing yourself lagging. When your connecting to a server, speeds can spike and drop considerably before recovering. So that could lead to a disconnect or the game hanging if it happens at the wrong time.
And yeah, I do have a fancy super-fast connection. 200mb down and 13mb up. But I've even seen that drop to 40 down and 2 up at the worst of times. Which still sounds decent enough. But has resulted in some connection issues for me.
Anyway..... I'm rambling.
Give the router a reset (Switch it off for 10 minutes). Wired connection is preferred over wireless. Delete the temp data. make sure nat type 2. And hopefully that's enough to get back racing online. I'm not sure the whole safe mode, rebuild database thing will resolve a connection issue.
Nothing is working, it cannot be the connection as I recently moved and the connection I have is far better than the previous one.
I don't know what to do
I am not hearing others discuss this, right now, so, as a guess, chances are that the cause is at your end.
Contact your ISP and ask them to do a diagnostic test on your service and see if they find anything.
Also, do a PS4 file system check (rebuild file database), in Safe Mode, to see if that resolves this issue.
I already rebuilt the database and it didn't work. I then deleted the game and am downloading it again. I'll see later if this solves the problem.
It's weird though, all the other online games work perfectly@MastrGT
I am facing very the same Issue with 100MB interned speed. I am going to try rebuild database bud I am not sure if this will solve this issue at all.
Let me know, rebuilding the database didn't work for me.@Arachnidomus
I managed to enter in 3 races today, woohoo! It then got stuck again.
I'm quite sure it's not at my end the problem.
Where can I contact the support or report this bug?
I hope they solve it soon, I've got the digital copy and I can't even sell it if I won't ever be able to play again.
So rebuild database not helped at all ... I did try almost everything and no luck. I would like report this because i both this game for online races and this is not working at all right now.@WhiteShark90
In your first post, you mention that this condition happens while qualifying. I presume that you mean in Sport Mode.
Does the same happen in custom lobbies that allow qualifying?
Can you enter Sport Mode events without qualifying?
First of all thanks for the answer.
Yeah you presume right, I basically only play sport mode. Tbh I haven't tried entering without qualifying, tomorrow after work I'll give it a try and let you know.
About custom lobbies, I entered a few just to test if I could see other people during practice and everything was alright. But I didn't try custom lobbies with qualifying.
I'll let you know tomorrow, thanks in advance@MastrGT
Thank you very much.
I noticed that this problem started to happen after the last update.
Before that never happened, even with a worse connection than the actual one@MastrGT
Same on my side ... I did try to enter the event with Q or without but with the very same result. Yesterday I did try 16 times with one success enter the event. From my side it looks like the host server did not respond. ..
To MastrGT ... thank you very much for your great help@WhiteShark90
Hey mastrgt, i just tried what you said,no way of entering in either way.
Always stuck at preparing the match@MastrGT
Same issue on my side. I just want to append that if I have luck to joint to live event, so after that when I get back to game screen with live events there is no screens or logos on events. Manufactured and Nations events are completely gone and on daily events there is just letters nothing else. I have to exit the game and again start it to get this screens back. But with unable to go to live events.@WhiteShark90
@MastrGT i just realized that I can partecipate in games from the lobby.
The problem is only with the sport mode. Any advice?
