Important Changes to 'Sport' Mode
In order to improve the racing experience in Gran Turismo Sport, we will soon introduce a series of changes to the Online Races specification in 'Sport' mode. The following is a list of changes planned.
To allow for a better online experience when racing for players who are geographically located in very distant places, we will be changing the matchmaking regions of the 'Sport' mode from the current 3 Regions (Europe/Middle East/Africa, North/Central/South Americas, and Asia/Oceania) to 5.
The 5 Regions will be organised according to the following grouping:
●UK ●Ireland ●Belgium ●Luxembourg ●Netherlands ●France ●Germany ●Austria ●Switzerland ●Italy ●Portugal ●Denmark ●Finland ●Norway ●Sweden ●Spain ●Russia ●UAE ●South Africa ●Poland ●Greece ●Saudi Arabia ●Czech Republic ●Turkey ●India ●Croatia ●Slovenia ●Kuwait ●Israel ●Ukraine ●Bulgaria ●Hungary ●Qatar ●Romania ●Bahrain ●Lebanon ●Oman ●Malta ●Cyprus ●Slovakia ●Iceland
(There are no changes to the matchmaking for the countries of this Region.)
●United States ●Canada
●Mexico ●Brazil ●Chile ●Argentina ●Peru ●Colombia ●Panama ●Costa Rica ●Ecuador
●Guatemala ●El Salvador ●Paraguay ●Honduras ●Uruguay ●Bolivia ●Nicaragua
●Japan ●Hong Kong ●Taiwan ●Singapore ●Malaysia ●Korea ●Indonesia ●Thailand ●China
●Australia ●New Zealand
It will be possible to join the same race multiple times in each Round of the 'FIA-certified Gran Turismo Championships'.
When joining the same race more than once per Round, players will receive points only for the race where they obtained the highest results.
[SCHEDULE AND WARNING]
These changes will be tested from the 'Daily Races' beginning Wednesday 05 December, and are planned to be fully implemented from the start of the Exhibition Series Season 4 scheduled for Wednesday 19 December.
Please be aware that during this testing phase there might be unforeseen issues with the gameplay caused by the changes implemented.

I've not managed to get on yet myself. But I'm most looking forward to trying the P1 GTR and testing out the new track.
How about everyone else?
Itching for the P1 GTR too! Putting the credits away to splash on on that & F50 at same time@RenegadeXtreme
I've not tried the F50 yet. I've never been a Ferrari fun. Although Gran Turismo has made me appreciate the cars a lot more than I used to
I've got about 9mil credits. But don't know what to splash out on. Maybe one of the GT500 cars from the previous update. I've not tried those yet.@DVSR-Racing
If it’s the Japanese Group 2 racers you’re referring to, I was gifted Nissan’s 2016 Motul GTR and that’s SMOOTH to drive IMO. Hold out to be given something! 😎@RenegadeXtreme
Yeah those. I bought them all.@DVSR-Racing
The AI has not been improved/overhauled unfortunately, it's still last century.
I think the P1 will be too fast for me, interested to see the new track, although I'm not very keen on any Tokyo expressway tracks so far, but look forward to trying it out.
The Pontiac I look forward to as well.
What is it about the AI that you are really not happy about? I know it's not perfect. And not as good as the AI in some other games. It's a really hard thing to to get right. But in my opinion, the AI in GT Sport is a big improvement over GT6. They don't stick to the same line like they used to. They move off line and defend positions. They do late dives. They makes mistakes. Sometimes at our expense which always sucks of course.
My real issue when racing against the AI is not really the AI itself. But the fact that the career mode races, boost is turned on. So it can make the AI a bit overly aggressive when you are leading.@Sjc-alpha
I suppose the short answer is I can't find anything positive to say about the AI.
I do mostly the endurance races so most of the experience comes from there.
When you come across two back markers together, one will give the racing line the other not, which basically blocks the track. Back markers will not stay to one side in corners, like at the long right hander at Monza where the racing line goes left, right, left so the AI go right, left, right, again effectifully blocking the track. They should do one manouvre only.
Dragon trail gardens, on the back straight the AI will hit you through the kink whether racing for position or lapping them.
AI exiting the pits at Fuji will hit you, and you can go on with many others like these.
In career mode races there is always just one particular car to beat, in GR3 it's the blue BMW, in Real world circuits it's the Alpine etc. So when I do the enduro's I just look at the ticker along the bottom to see where the blue BMW is and plan accordingly, that's if it is there of course. There is no variance.
This is my opinion and I'm sure people will dismiss all the above, which I won't retaliate on as it's my experience.
The boost I totally agree with you, it's ridiculous and needs removing asap.
I should add that I have not tried the new endurance race yet, I see it's at the new track which is a tad disappointing but will hold opinion for now.
By the way, I've never had the Audi R8 Gr3 in any endurance or Gr3 race event, has any else ?@RenegadeXtreme
Forgot to mention that there are places where the AI stays on line no matter what.
The AI are still 'concrete' cars.
The AI also comes off of a corner in the middle of the track. All from GT1.
If flag rules were added, which at the moment are totally redundant and not worth being in the game, would be something at least, the AI can block for quite a while with no penalty.
My issue with the AI is the way it drives around corners. It's not natural. A good example is the drive around Mount Panorama. Especially through the Dipper, the AI slows down way too much. And this excessive slowing down ruins the experience for me.@RenegadeXtreme
The Datsun thingy looks fun to drive as well as the Trans Am, there will be countless Bandit Liveries, not a bad thing as I kinda liked his Car Films alongside Mr. Chaos!!
As for the Tokyo Tracks, you can bin them.. never going to use them.. too much like Need For Speed and I hate those..
Not sure if the Driving Physics have changed or whether I've changed.. I've not really hit the Tracks over the last month and when I did, it all felt rather strange, nowhere near my previous lap times.. just don't feel right.
Tried the new endurance race on the new track, and you're spot on.
The AI can now use the walls to corner without hinderance or penalty, a bit like the no effect with sand traps, they can knock each other against the walls etc etc.
Wish I could delete this particular event from my game as I'll never go back to it, why didn't PD use Catalunya instead.@S2N-Ava
McLaren is 3.6 million...guess I need to get saving...Not so keen on the Tokyo Tracks...prefer to race the Gr3s...now if it was Spa...
I didn't win the P1 from the Daily Mileage (yeah, like that was going to happen). So I caved and bought it. Wish it had better brakes. But it's a great car to drive. Sounds awesome too.
The new Tokyo tracks.............. Think it's the South Loop layout I quite like. THe one that goes through the shipyard. Raced on it with GR.3 and Gr.4 cars. Was good fun. And the pit position is interesting. Need to see how it races with real people and not AI.
Would love Spa. Thought it was coming in September. But I was clearly misinformed. One day it will come.@Raybrig_
Got excited that the random car generator was about to deliver me a little slice of the P1...Didn't.. Got a fiat 500 instead.
I can't really complain , got GTsport Day 1 edition for £20 last black Friday so every thing is a bonus .@RenegadeXtreme
A bargain at that price. Especially with all the updates since launch. And everything still to come. Think I seen a few of the old Ronin guys pick up the game recently.
Fiat 500 is a legendary car!@Raybrig_
Yeah there is a few of us got it now .
Thought I should really take a look back in here and see what's happening 😉@RenegadeXtreme
Not too much going on here activity / event wise. We've pretty much wrapped everything up or the year. Just the 1 hour race next week that you and anyone is welcome to join.
Got plenty of activities in the works for next year. So many come looking for other Communities to challenge.@Raybrig_
yeah that time of year.
i still struggle to make it online before 10pm ,so puts me out of events....for now , hopefully some good changes coming next year.@RenegadeXtreme
Separating Australia and New Zealand from the rest of Asia is a ridiculous move that just ruined the game for me. 4 people in an online race and getting matched with DR and SR much lower as there are just not enough people playing in this new region. My SR had plummeted thanks to getting rammed. What's the point? It was great racing against people from all around Asia. Now online racing is pretty much a waste of time.
I hope this gets rescinded and we go back to the old Asia-Oceania region ASAP
