My sons PS4 has to be reconnected to the
internet each time he turns his PlayStation on. It acts like it has a hard time connecting as well when we go through to test the connection speed in the settings. It is connected wireless using a Comcast modem/router. None of the other devices connected in the house have this issue(Xbox one, cell phones, computer)except for the PS4. What might cause this?
Use an ethernet connection wherever possible.
PS4 wi-fi isn't the best at the best of times, plus it also is advisable to open the correct ports in your router for the PS4.
The fix and connect tool will help you troubleshoot problems and optimise your connection.
So I’ve went in and opened all of the correct ports but it still says it needs to be connected each time he turns off the PS4(doesn’t go into rest mode but off all the way). If we test the internet connection it will then connect to PSN but it’s annoying. I definitely get that wired is better but my Xbox is on a wiress connection and it doesn’t have this issue. Any idea of what might be causing it to need to be connected each time?@Oran_Gina
Might be running on the same ip as another device. ( A wild guess)
You can try a database rebuild to see if it makes any difference.
