Some of you may already be aware of the ranking system here on the Official PlayStation forums, we have recently made some tweaks to make things better! For veterans and newcomers alike, let me explain the updated system!
What is the ranking system?
We’re all gamer’s right? There’s nothing quite like earning that XP and levelling up! This updated ranking system rewards you for activities on the forums such as interacting with other users and creating awesome engaging content! The more of this community XP you earn, the quicker you will climb the ranks!
OK, I think I get it, tell me more about the ranks.
There are 16 ranks in total starting off with rank 1, this rises all the way up to rank 16 (the ultimate forum rank!) each one of these ranks has a PlayStation orientated name. Will you be able to spot them all?
Can I tell how I’m progressing?
Hovering over your PSN ID at the top of the forum will give you an overview of your current progress
Can I check other community members are progressing?
Absolutely! If you hover over the avatar or any forum user at thread level, you will get an overview of that users rank progression!
What’s in it for me?
There could be special rewards for achieving certain levels, the only way to find out is to get ranking up!
I like the sound of this, is there a way of ranking up quicker?
The formulas we use to calculate forum ranks are a highly guarded secret (they won’t even tell me!). Progression through the earlier ranks is quite simple though. Simple forum engagement will soon help you level up. To progress through the higher ranks, you’ll need to be creating fantastic, creative and engaging content as well as positively interacting with other users.
There will be absolutely no bonus XP for posting cat gifs.
