Is anybody else having this problem? The game keeps freezing for a split second every 15-30 seconds. Cant this be fixed or can my ps4 pro just not handle it? Its really frustrating and makes me want to throw my controller every time it does it mid battle or cutscene.
Do you have problems with other games?
This doesn't sound typical of the experiences others are having with this game.
It may be worth deleting the game, running option 5 "rebuild database" from safe mode, then re-installing.
Scroll down to Option 5 and click X
My ps4 pro is brand new so idk if thats the problem but I tested a few other games and they seem to work fine.@Oran_Gina
It's worth a try, sometimes a game can misbehave a little at installation giving rise to less than smooth running. It's worth trying at least and the rebuild database option is not destructive, but that's up to you.
If it still behaves the same afterwards then maybe we can look at other ways to get you sorted and enjoying your game.
Make sure your tv is set to game mode.
Another guy said the performance was a bit iffy on his tv, told him to try game mode and he said it sorted it.
Worth a shot@JohnnyKake
i have the same issue :(
its more like the speach / audio is stuttering
EG: Kratos says : "Space your shots" and it comes through as "Sp.....ace your shots"
I hope this makes sense.
Im running a PS4 Pro with Favour Resolution
Had the same issue with my new pro on god of war 4 and other games like farcry 5. I even tried buying a new hdmi with gold tips for better handshake between tv and console no luck at all@JamesSmith1234
Yeah I had it too even bought a new copy of god of war 4 still does it. They need to figure this out so future games doesn’t do this. It takes away from the cinnamatic experience in general@JamesSmith1234
Talked to an employe today whose base PS4 has the same problem with the game. Thankfully all I have is the "jet-engine problem" .... . It seems as if the game is a little TOO taxing for the hardware.
If running the database rebuild outlined in my first reply doesn't help, can I once again request anyone who is seeing this behaviour to post a video clip of what they are seeing here.
At this point, I beat the main story in the game already and I just kind of learned to ignore it but to anyone else it concerns, what happens is exactly what I said. The game plays normal but every 15-30 seconds, the gameplay will freeze for a half of a second but the audio remains which causes cutscenes to be out of sync sometimes. I can’t record it but again, it doesn’t bother me anymore so long as GoW is the only game it affects.@Oran_Gina
i will play tonight and hopefully i can get a video of it !!
very annoying :(
especially when my console sounds like its ready to take off haha
I didn't take this video, but this is similar to how it's acting up on me.
sorry for the background noise but here is an example:
A riddle turns to a ri....dle
Thanks for posting that.
Would you mind sharing how your audio is set up? (optical, hdmi, direct to tv, via av receiver, settings and sound format on the console and audio device, that sort of thing)
It might help to figure out if it's the game itself or some other factor.@JamesSmith1234
I am experiencing the same issue. It makes the game basically unplayable. Would love to know how to resolve this issue.
This video is very similar to what my game is doing:
