Cannot download update version 6.20

Says I have an update for PS4 version 6.20 and wen I go to update it , it says ‘cannot download , software system : version 6.20’ what shall I do ?

Same here. Getting into infinite loop.

Tried to download v6.20 on laptop and copied to USB drive according to instruction. But no effect. Still getting the same error.

PS: On V6.02 now.

Having the same issues with my system. It's currently in safe mode and doesn't load past 34% when checking the software. Also tried to use my laptop to download but no effect.

 when I start up my ps4 I got CE-34788-0 error, I did download the 6.20 fix on my flash drive as I should but the file is ps3 data fix when I open it it's for ps3, not for ps4 and on the PlayStation page it is shown as PS4 fix, I research it and I can't find the solution, it used to be 5.50 now it's 6.20 and it's not working, I can't do anything else than click okay or cancel, dont have any other options, I don't know what to do, help me please.

same here in uk i downloaded it fine started installing then restart itself cannot start ps4 so i rebuild database and halfway through that i   get restart again and erro cannot start ps4 so i go back into the safe mode and now only option 7 is available

every time i try to install the update just throws error su-42118-6

The error code SU-42118-6 indicates you have a fault with the Blu-Ray drive. The PS4 system will not accept this update or any future updates until the Blu-Ray drive is repaired, this is due to hardware checks introduced after system software 5.00 due to idiots modifying their systems.

I had the same issue. Tried using a USB to complete this. PlayStation support told me to reboot my PS4 (safe mode option 7) and now my controller won’t pair so my PS4 is basically a brick

Not able to download system error.. getting (CE-30002-5) error.

You need to connect the PS controller with a USB cable. It won't work wireless in safe mode.

I am having the same damn problem and I have not discovered a solution. It is like a paradox. Makes me freaking mad.

I went and delete out of notification then went to settings and started it from the check system update. Worked that way for me.
