Will PS Now ever be available in Australia ?
Don’t think we will ever get a definitive answer (unless it does cone here, which obviously would be a yes), but I’d say probably not.
The market isn’t big enough and the current state of NBN in most of the country isn’t good enough to run it
Wait because of NBN ??? That’s like saying we can’t have Netflix, Stan or any other stream service and the market is plenty big here in Australia for this service, I think they need s better excuse then that !!
@WhiteMonkey88Probably takes a little more to stream a game to play smoothly, then to watching a movie.
I hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
@CameronLevertonwell Cloud gaming is far more complicated than streaming videos , for a Smooth experience you need a fast response internet , otherwise the gameplay will feel laggy you can try nvidia cloud gaming to see what i mean , but i agree they should've make the service available in australia at least for people who can afford using it , Sony just thinks about profit in big scales which makes sense they have best gaming industry right now if you consider their exclusives and their affordable almost up to date console , so it's obvious they will wait to make service available whenever the time is right for their business .
@CameronLevertonit's good to point out in almost 5-10 years from now cloud gaming will be the future of gaming , so i reckon australia needs to catch up with the rest of the world when it comes to technology , it sucks when here is the last stop for a new service or a product being available in modern countries , we're more like a developing country industrial-technological wise .
@CameronLevertonNo you didn't. Sorry but that's just a total lie. It's dishonest bs perpetuated by the CSIRO because they saw an opportunity for patent trolling and went for it. Now in their defense, they patent troll because the government doesn't fund them properly, but it's still a lie.
I mean think about, wifi was around for years without a suggestion that Australians invented it, then *****, one day that belief was everywhere. Does that make sense? Does it make sense that couple CSIRO scientists invented wifi? This is one of those things widely believed but totally false.
Besides, technologies like wifi are generally not invented by any individual, large teams in various disciplines contribute over a great deal of time. And of the countries that contributed, Australia wasn't one of them. So they didn't even partially kinda contribute to it either.
Internet speeds aren't a problem to most Aussies. All the PS Now servers are located in the US. Latency issues would be the problem until there are servers here, but that would cost dollars. Might not be worth it right now
PS Now servers are regional there's no way EU customers in the UK,Netherlands and Belgium could use the service if the servers were US based the latency would be far too high.
@Timyadds
I hope soon i purely wanted it to subscribe for access to red dead redemption before number 2 comes out :(
Sadly folks, I don't see it being available here annnnnnnnnnytime soon, if ever.
Unfortunately from what I have been reading (and there's really not much out there) both it and PS Vue seem to have really fallen by the wayside, for a culmination of reasons... And, at this point with everything I have read about MS building it's worldwide Azure network, if Sony were genuinely serious about the product, we would have been hearing the same sort of progress details, etc - imo.
The real question is will Sony stop being complacent and add better Mod Support, and a Discord service and Cross's platform play like Microsoft is doing with Xbox, Sony needs to start competing for out $Bucks$ again they have become to complacent with their victory, though their first party game support is great especially the exclusive games.
Ye. In NZ we cant get it either
It would probably be cheaper in the long run to buy a pre-owned PS3 and a load of pre-owned games from EB
I own every playstation console in existence so I’m good there man (Collectted PS gear for 17 years) I want more features for my PS4 such as PS Vue and PS Now, just seems unfair how a huge playstation fan, collector and player like myself can not touch these cool features
@gavsta72Total bs I have a solid 100mb per second speed and during speed tests always above 80 mb per second download and at least 30-40 mb per second upload which is plenty to stream any game at 60 FPS at 1080p I can share play any game no problem with friends all over the world not just Australia which is exactly the same as ps now you stream your game to another person and vice versa with ps now you stream from a server so internet speed has nothing to do with Sony not releasing it here they just dont give a damn about it’s gamers they need to hire someone like jace hall on their staff but I doubt he would ever join Sony cause he cares for gamers they realease the shittest ps2 games and remake garbage ps3 games at least remaster red dead redemption because on the ps3 the servers are a ghost town but Xbox one red dead servers are booming but nah you release red dead revolver instead what a joke
