How fast is your connection?
To help us help you, give us a bit more info.
Where are you based?
Who is your ISP?
What is your model router/modem?
How are you connecting (WiFi or Wired)?
are you getting any error codes?
That info will go a long way to help.
Have you tried using the online help available too?
- Where are you based?
Amsterdam, one of the internet hubs in the physical world
- Who is your ISP?
Largest in the country (Ziggo), acquired by an even larger ISP
- What is your model router/modem?
It is a PC Engines APUv2 running OpenBSD
- How are you connecting (WiFi or Wired)?
- Are you getting any error codes?
No, just a useless message. Had I gotten error codes I would have obviously posted in this forum
- Have you tried using the online help available too?
Yes, absolutely. And it did not work (as foreseen and expected).
So, yes. I'd love to hear suggestions on how to solve this entirely unbelievable issue.
I deliver a product or support like this in my day job? I am ***** fired right away.
I wonder how these ***** are getting away with this behaviour.@castaway666
Ok I'll bite. Have you checked with other local users for your region (on the Dutch boards)
What is this useless message you are seeing?
What settings do you have the running on the PlayStation.
Thanks for your reply.
I have not checked the dutch boards, good point. Will do.
However, I very much doubt this is a connectivity issue. There must be a fuckton and a half of PS4 users in Amsterdam using my same ISP (and shared infrastructure), should this be a connectivity issue I am pretty sure it would have been reported and fixed (within the ISP) in a matter of days.
I know I had an issue with my second hop router (in the ISP network) and once I got past the first level support the issue was fixed real quick.
The useless message we all see is the same message that gives a title to all these posts: "Unable to connect to the server at the moment. Wait a few moments and try again.".
And that is all.
The Playstation is new, I purchased it about two weeks ago or something.
No customisation performed on it besides privacy settings for my PSN user.
The whole point of getting the PS was to get a blackbox, an appliance, that required no customisation nor troubleshooting.
I have also angry-posted in another thread on this sub-forum, there is more info there too.
I'll see if I can get more info in the dutch boards and update the posts here.
Should point out, any swear words are filtered out however as these are official forums take care as any behaviour deemed to break set terms and conditions may also affect your PlayStation account.
If this was a worldwide issue, you'd see a hell of a lot more threads than replying to one and a post from over a year ago. This is why often it's a localised issue.
Past experience here, is that it doesn't matter if your ISP is the greatest in the country. Example one of better suppliers of high speed internet is an absolute dog when comes to online console gaming.@spookymalibu
Again, (honest) thanks for your advice. I'll watch the language to avoid having my account banned (not because PSN, Sony, PS+ have made me feel any better).
Indeed, if this were a worldwide issue it would be all over the internet. It is not, so it is not a global issue. In fact, all the Service Status pages report all systems to be up and running.
By the looks of the post authors, this issue is not localised to a single region I would say.
So I wonder what else we have in common.
My PS is a "PS4 Pro 1TB" running System Software 6.02, CUH-7216B model. No pending updates are reported.
I do actively measure and monitor my network connectivity in terms of latency, jitter and packet loss to a plethora of targets across the globe. My internet connectivity is fine and dandy.
I'll set up some measurements towards the DNS names resolved by the PS4 when opening the hub and see if I can spot anything.@castaway666
Has you're PS4 been activated as your primary account/console?
Have you tried manually logging out of your PSN and logging back in again also?
Thanks for your reply.
Yes, I did set it as my primary PS4 and also tried to logout and login again.
It did not make any difference :(
I raised a ticket with Tech Support yesterday, I got an automatic response stating they are swamped with work and that it'll take longer than usual. Oh well, I will be patient.
I will also give a call to the dutch support line, we'll see where that takes us.
Keep you posted.
I have looked into the traffic sent to and from the console and, while I cannot see the contents of the exchanged traffic (cause it uses TLS), I can see the session is terminated by the console (and not the PS+ servers.
With this I mean that the TCP connection is torn down upon the console's request.
No idea what's going on :(@Syph33r
Cool stuff, report back what you hear off them.@spookymalibu
I am still working on this, guys.
Back and forth, providing information to the Tech Support team etc.
Currently, the original ticket I opened with them's been closed and a new one has been raised to escalate it to a "network" team.
The issue does not look to be in my ISP and so they want to check the logs of their systems (including my public IP address and timestamp of the connection attempts).
Keep you posted!@castaway666
Still going through hoops to get this issue sorted with PS Tech Support.
We've tried a handful of things and there's obviously some delay in between messages so... yea, it is taking a really long time - my 12 month subscription keeps going on while I do not have access to all the features it unlocks. Wow.
Keep you posted!@castaway666
In the latest response from Tech Support they threw it over the fence (again) and pointed me (again) at the Fix & Replace tool which was, of course, useless. As it was the first time they made me go through that specific hoop.
They also mentioned that the *BRAND NEW* Playstation 4 Pro might need to be replaced with another unit in order to have the issue sorted.
In general, I am quite dissatisfied and frustrated with the way Tech Support is handling the case. Not because the issue is not sorted, but because they decided to fragment the history by raising a new ticket (to only go through the same questions) and because the responses I get come from different individuals that do not read, for the most part, the history of the ticket.
Worst of all, there is no clear escalation path for the ticket and absolutely no transparency.
Oh well, what can I do... most likely I won't renew my subscription and sell the console after I am done with RDR2.
My account is afflicted by this as well.
Unfortunately there is no error code... only the following message:
"Unable to connect to the server at the moment. Wait a few moments and try again."
None of my other accounts on the system have this issue.
Same happen to me for now.
Connection test successful all.
no error code.
I have the same problem.
All connection test are fine, its been like this for a month now.
привет я хочу у знать какие есть тему для ps plus
