January 2019 PlayStation Plus games announced!
woo, tis a new year with some all new (er, probably old-ish) games announced for PS Plus, and the Blog has posted up which free ones we'll be getting!
seems like the first biggies of 2019 are snowy Steep, alongside nighty Portal Knights for all PS4ers! then as PS3 is closing up soon we're getting robo ZOE as well as super songy basher Amplitude to finish things off. and then Vita is going the same way, but throwing out Fallen Legion and blaster Alien Assault at us!
what does everyone think of this months game offerings? a good load of funsies? or big bag of not-so-greats? or a bit in the middle and you might give some a try and see what happens? and the most important question, any easy platinums? :D
we'll be able to download all these from 1st January 2019! Decembers games are still up until then, go grab 'em if you havent already: here! heres the full list for this month:
if you want to spread your love/anger, check out the PS Blog: here!
Yay!! free crap
I'll have a go of Steep though, i've never played a sport game
Am I right in thinking there have been a lot of changes since the open beta?
I'll give it a go if it's closer to ssx like I wanted before and didn't get.
Forgot it was time for this.
I'll try Steep. I did enjoy the beta, but not enough to want to buy it. And seemed like servers went quiet quickly. Hopefully this gets them busy again.
Would be nice if it was the full game though. The game wasn't even half finished at launch and everything came via paid DLC. The season pass costs more then the game itself
Say what?! The fixes for the game were paid DLC?! That's madness!!@WhiteMonkey88
Steep was a fun game, open world Mountain..
Had this Game on disc as a present from you know who!!
The Game was right up my street.
I've played it on and off for a while now, the best fun is trying to kill off your little character at every chance you get (cause I'm EVIL)... hilarious crashes and so much fun.
Enjoy the FREE Edition..@WhiteMonkey88
What I read, yeah. Basically released it too early and released a bunch of DLC to pad an empty game (not environment wise, but challenges and whatever needs to be done in the game).
I've not purchased any extra content for the base disc game itself and it's more than entertaining value for me, perhaps not for some tho.
I pick it up from time to time to chill out, take in the Scenery but always end up just bashing my character around the rocks for the crashes... just cracks me up too much and is too tempting.
Good game as a base, adding the Sledges and Rocket Pack would add that much more to the game, and the cost is not that great really.. Sony did have these at a fraction of the cost but I managed to miss out when the prices were cut..@WhiteMonkey88
Soz was beavering away at work.
Its still worth the download and giving it some time to get used to though.
Once navigating the slopes soaks in, there's still plenty to do in there.
Different sorts of snowboarding/skiing comps, some fun ott stuff.
Plus wingsuit adrenaline fueled action, pieceful parasailing etc.
ALL that's still in the base game and there is a huge selection of peaks points/areas to explore without touching DLC.
Its just that you'll just be bombarded with ads.
The standard menus "buy extras" is fair enough.
But by-jolly did I find it frustrating when you're hunting for new Drop Points (locations) through your binoculars and it plays an audio advert and visual stimuli over the top of everything else.
The camera zoom work (never found a way to fully turn it off) and sometimes seemingly random bobble physics can get annoying,
But rinse n repeat.
It can be really fun and rewarding at times.@PotentialMonkey
Ahh cool. Got it downloading now (almost finished) so will give it a go later. Would be fun if they added VR support. Especially with the wingsuit and parasailing@WinnieP
I second your thoughts re the DLC adverts being intrusive, I enjoyed the game for a while but once you've done a fair bit of exploring I ended up going on long slogs to what turned out to be DLC markers.
Worth a few hours though.@WinnieP
Again a very poor selection of games - same trend as seen in previous months. Feeling a bit sorry I renewed my ps+ subscription hoping to get some nice games like in the past (read: xcom, mgsv, Batman, Rayman...)
I'll give Steep a go, but unless it's anything like SSX Tricky (I know it won't be, but I'm hoping to be very pleasantly surprised), I won't be playing it for long.
Why can't they just re-make SSX Tricky? All snowboarding games since have shown that realism sucks, and madness is better. Give me back my mad tricks, crazy tracks and Run DMC!!
I've been wanting this for years.
Or SSX 3.
The ps3 SSX game was a bit pants as well.@PotentialMonkey
I can bring my PS2 upto Sheffield and we can get it on in the hotel room..?
Where are they, the kids want to play Portal Knights.
Well they can wait a few hours@elliott316
or they can play it on the xbox@gavsta72
looks like the games are now up to download :), not sure i can edit the first post anymore to add tiles and stuff though.
seems we also get Amplitude on PS4 as well as a seperate download too 8D.
