So I just plugged my PS3 back in after a few years, made a new account, and got YouTube on it. Turns on, asks to update to 3.03, I click accept, and it instantly reboots. No progress whatsoever RN. Please help!

EDIT: I did some more looking, and came across this video. Solved my problem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CumTs_SKdA

had same issue and it appears fixed as of last night, try to update youtube to 3.03 again the normal way - just launch the app, select yes/ok to update to 3.03 and wait for the update to happen without any trickery

I tried all of the suggestions and still cannot get YouTube to work on ps3. Went to my channel to download from there and there was no YouTube on it. Just keeps saying update and keeps rebooting. Worked fine a week ago and now nothing. Help.

I just ran into this last night and found a fix. I went to settings and turned off media server and it worked. I spent an hour trying different things people said would work to no avail but this worked for me. Good luck

I have installed it several times now, and from the (my channels) section. YouTube will open but it will not play any video. I keep getting a message saying error playback, next video. ***** -- this only happened after I let the PS3 update itself to 4.83. most of what I do is on YouTube, so this monumentally sucks.

Hope this works for all regions, i did it in México and worked like a charm:

* Sign out from PSN

* Run YouTube

* Press O to cancel update and let YouTube load

* Once YouTube stop loading and crashes, Sign in into PSN

And run the update.

Fixed mine by turning off auto sign in and it instantly updated YouTube.

I never had a problem untill I reset my PS3 to default. Then YouTube started saying I needed to update to 3.03 and sign in but I  already was signed in. I tried some of these other tricks but had no luck. I remembered the only thing I'd changed was having auto sign in so I unticked the auto sign in box and problem sorted.

Just to further extrapolate on this reply. The video doesn’t explicitly state that you should delete any version of YouTube that you have already downloaded. Once I deleted the version I got from PS store and THEN used the trick states in this video it worked for me. Just wanted to clarify for anyone else struggling.

Googles problem not Sony's and it's unlikely to be fixed considering the age of the PS3.
