If you plan on playing GTA V on the 12GB PS3 the disk version will require a whopping 8GB mandatory instalation, It will just squeeze in as long as you plan on playing GTA V and nothing else and Rockstar keep the update sizes small. The information is in the link below on GTA V Q&A the Xbox 360 version will ship on two disk's also requiring 8GB mandatory instalation.
If you plan on upgrading your 12GB PS3 internal memory now would be a good time before GTA V releases, I reckon there will be a chunky update when GTA Online launches on the 1st of october.
I agree and gta online should be at least 8gbs too and ı dont think you can use the full 12 gbs anyway.
No you don't get full 12GB free around 10% + is reserved so between 9GB to 9.5GB, I don't think GTA Online will require another full 8GB because the core world map and game mechanics will be there, but I reckon it'll be a chunky update pushing or exceeding a 12GB PS3's memory limit.
not surprised a HDD les is stupid imo
you can't play the ps3's best selling game on the 12gb to it's full potentil
you can't play the 360 best selling game online with out a hdd

whenever i look in cex, it is awash with 100-200gb hds for 10-20 pounds. If you dont want to pay out for a 500/1tb thats potentially a cheap option.
It's a better option than the 500GB model in my opinion you can upgrade the HDD yourself cheaper than the RRP of a 500GB model, plus there's a lot of reported issues with 500GB models fitted with stock Hitachi travelstar drives.
I have always said, buying a 12Gb model is a false economy.
