Greeting Ladies n Gents,
I'm from Adelaide and turning the big 4-0 at the end of this year and I just thought I'd throw up a post to see how many of you PS 4 gamers, like myself, are starting to get long in the tooth.
I have gamed with all the consoles over the years. My introduction to online gaming was on the PC playing "Counterstrike" (dont hold it against me) and the original "Battlefield".
I used to love the squad based play and late night gaming sessions with like minded people on "Battlefield 2" as well, but started to lose interest in the end as the haxors were rife."Bad Company" just wasn't the same.
Anyway, long story short Ive decided to get back into online gaming.I didn't want to build another $1500-$2000 gaming rig,so i figured my best "Bang for buck" was to buy a PS4........and here i am.
If you too are my age or above and need some older bastar......er.....acquaintances in your friends list, feel free to send me a request and we can own some of these young punks :Winner:
There are also some online driving games up and coming that look pretty tasty,so I might need some cannon fodder to run off the road after a few scotches.........
Own up.Don't be shy now..........
I'm 44, turning 45 in July.
I started gaming on the old Apple II+ clunkers at my high school. My first computer was a Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48K. I didn't get into consoles until much later. My first console was an Amiga CD32 (with the very rare MPEG decoder module), followed by the original PlayStation. Been a PlayStationer ever since.
There's another thread somewhere on here started many years ago with a bunch of us old-timers in it. You should look it up.
EDIT: Oh, and I'm from New Zealand, by the way.
Not 40, but BF4 is back to its roots with the squad based play with BF2.
Only Issue I see is that most people plays like its CoD so it's not as fun unless you have some other mates who play it too.
I've only just started playing it, and recently unlocked the defib - so I can revive people haha.
"Project cars looks amazing, I won't be passing that one up!"
Bloody oath mate !! I'll be there with bells on
Will add you tonight........
41 In December and from Brisbane. I used to PC game, but working in the PC industry I just got sick of coming home and working out why a certain PC game isn't working. Much prefer getting home, turning on the PS3/PS4 and chillin.
im 30... you guys are definetly makeing me feel a little younger :P
looking forward to some online Drive Club and Destiny... :D
feel free to add me on your list...
Yup, started "Home Gaming" when my family got an Atari VCS in 1978. Prior to that it was arcades and binatone TV games.
From then I progressed through the usual, ZX Spectrum, C64, Amiga 500, Master System, Megadrive, Amiga 1200, PCs, PlayStation, N64, PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, PS3, 360, PS4, Xbone etc along with many different handhelds, still have my boxed Donkey Kong Game & Watch.
Back in the UK I worked for an ISP and we hosted our own game servers so my proper introduction to online gaming (apart from Duke Nukem using Kali95) was also Counter Strike.
I belong to an online community called the Old Age PlayStationers (OAP) formed in 2003 from the original PS2 Beta trials, that was for the over 27s back then and is still going, full of old buggers like ourselves. It is UK based but we have members all over the world, including here.
I started in the UK but moved to Brisbane nearly ten years ago now and loving it.
If any of you other old buggers want to pop your heads in, the URL is http://www.oaps.org
Thats pretty crazy!!!
my first gaming experiance i can remember is playing pacman on an Olivetti 386 computer... haha i was just a tiny sperm back then :P
I'm 35 as of E3 this year. So till half a decaed to go yet. Shouldn't feel to long in the tooth latest repot has the age of console gamer is 32. So you could see yourself as average plus 7.

Meesa...I'm 42 :) From Melbourne, first console was the NES :)
I'm 44 and started off with an Atari followed by Sega Master System, Megadrive, Mega CD (what a waste of money that was), PS One, X Box, PS2, PS3 (still have) and PS4.
Have about 85 on friends list with a lot of them been playing COD with for about 6 years but don't really play COD much any more. Love games with co-op campaign like Borderlands.
I'm not quite 40, only turned 34 last month but I'm keen to meet more older gamers on PS4.
I've recently converted from Xbox One to PS4 and I had plenty of friends on the xbox profile, but currently only a few on the PS profile.
I'll send a few of you some friend requests- I mainly play Battlefield 4, but I also have Warframe and Tomb Raider and will be getting the Last of Us and GTA 5 in the coming months.
I'm currently a member of a community known as Mojo- www.mojo.org.au Its more of an Xbox-centric community of Aussie gamers over the age of 25, but there are a handful of members who have both Xbox One and PS4- but it would be great to have a few more members to help fill up the PS4 events so feel free to join up and say hello!
^ Go for it, I myself am an Xb1 to PS4 and have a few friends who have done the same thing. I play BF4 and COD,,,,
not 40 but not that far from it lol add if you like...play all types of games
