So. Many of us are swapping out our HDs day one, my question is:

Do you need to install both update 1.50 and 1.51 or do you just install update 1.51?

I never swapped out my HD for my PS3 so I want to be as thorough as possible

I for one am swapping my HDD to a 1.5TB for maximum capacity lol.

Well, that's as big as they come in the 2.5' atm anwyways.

Any update is/are usually installed automatically by the console, regardless of how many.

I don't think we have a choice do we?

If you are putting a new HD in the console it doesnt have the information and you have to enter safe mode to do it. Otherwise you just have a box with a large HD and no OS.

That is my understanding anyway somebody correct me if I am wrong.

Yeah that's correct m8 :smileyhappy:.

But after that, the machine will automatically install the OS and updates.

1.51 will include 1.50, I believe 1.51 is 400MB, which is 100MB more than 1.50
