Hey guys, Just wondering anyone have experience random dropouts? A black screen for a second then the picture returns? I'm using a Samsung ks9000 and it supports 4K HDR, but at random times it drops out (picture and sound). It can happen anytime and maybe once or twice no particular pattern either. And not consistent. I've tried all the troubleshooting (except forcing it to output only 1080p) as I can but narrowed it down to just firmware bugs as something is not playing nice coming from the pro. My PS4 never had these problems. If someone has any ideas please advise because it's really ruining the experience here! I've never had so many issues with any consoles. FYI I have replaced my first pro because of this issue and it's the same. Thanks in advance!
I am getting this issue too with my Pro. I have no idea what's going on either, and would like answers or preferably a patch.
are you getting random dropouts at different times and sometimes it would happen once and sometimes it could be a few times a session? I'm glad i'm not alone as i was starting to think it was my console again and the first one got replaced because of this issue.
Thanks for sharing and i will keep you posted if i happen to find a solution.@maggicman14
Happens to me once in a while when I switch on ps4 pro and picture won't show.
Mine does that and its disconnected frm tv twice. then lastnight just shut down alltogether@schisophrenic
I have the same issue, baring in mind it only happened for the first time yesterday, it's never happened while I've been mid gaming though.@schisophrenic
Sounds to me like an HDMI handshaking problem where the the PS4 sends a signal to the TV and the return signal isn't recognised. I get it from time to time with my vanilla PS4 and have never been able to sort out what causes it.
it can be to do with different equipment being attached via HDMI and the order in which they're switched on. Googling the problem may give some pointers.
My experience on my 4K HDR LG TV UHD661V:
screen settings: auto,auto,HDR & deep color auto> 2K/4K 60Hz & HDR supported + RGB
I start WoT which is already updated for Pro.(4K+HDR features).I play without issues.
Close app.I switch to BF1.OK so far.
Switching back to WoT.OOOppps.No image! It works only IF i replug in the HDMI back to the port.
It happened 3 times so far since day 1.The ports & the cable are fine.
The ports are in perfect condition & the cable is the one from the Pro box.
I blame the HDCP 2.2.It does not work properly.OR works whenever it wishes!
Hey mate, I'm running the same setup as you. You found a solution yet? Same TV as you mentioned here, Ps4 pro and same problems.@billy-doc1
Now it works fine in about 99,9% lol
Sometimes i have to restart my TV.
For some reason the signal is messed up.
BUT when i restart the TV,4K & HDR work perfectly.
Had this issue at first was using a different HDMI cable than the one supplied and also a (coupler) to connect two cables together, does'nt play nice. I'm now using cable supplied with Pro direct to tv and not having any issues at all now.
How is it going? Any problems?@redviolence
Same. Was having black screen even during start up. But, I was re-using the cable (and port) of my apple tv. Using the cable that came with the PS4 controller fixed the issue.@redviolence
Tried everything but problems still persists... update 4.06 didn't do anything. using stock standard cables. Another thing is that the HDMI link doesn't seem to want to work properly either. When turning on the pro it would automatically switch the source over, however when turning it off or rest mode once in a while it would change otherwise it just sits there. My ps4 worked fine. I really hope there is a patch soon to fix these issues/bugs as i am getting pretty sick of it. Cant enjoy my game when in a middle of mission then the screen suddenly blanks out for a second... really not impressed. If someone has any other ideas please feel free to advise.
Please god lmk if you find the fix k8500 and the pro I'll do the same@seanle_13
Respond to this one if you can didn't know how to leave the email lol
Hey, it sucks you have this problem, but the only temporary solution at the moment is force the ps4 to use YUV420. If you haven’t tried this please give it a go... This will stop the blackouts... for a while. Mine came back over time but no where near as bad as before. We All still don’t have a solid solution and don’t even know which manufacture to chase up!@xx419x
Thanks still better now knowing it's not the tv but dam guess I'll have to try that for the raid better then blacking out@seanle_13
This is now getting beyond a joke. I have tried 5 different HDMi Cables all 4k certified. This has now only happend with patch 4.06 as my console was working fine on all my cables but now only works on the supplied one and all my cables are inside my walls so non are showing.
My Xbox one S runs 4k perfectly fine on any of my HDMi cables and my Tenak 4k 60Hz switch.
Im now regretting my purchase of my PRO it seems Sony rushed this out tbh,
i have same same issues with my Samsung ks9000 and Pro. Thought it was over Heating but it's a handshake issue. Glad I read this as I was about to send it back. I think we will have to wait for an update
Same problem here with my Samsung KS7000 and PS4 PRO. Unbelievable, first time I thought it could be an overheating problem but then it starts after 10 minutes or after 3 hours...hope for a major update because i can't play like this...
