PS4 external HDD

Hi!

I had a little situation, not a big deal, but I would like to know why it happened.

I recently bought a 2TB ADATA external HDD and I set it up as the "application instalation" destiny, but yesterday I bought Red Dead Redemption 2 on the PS Store and when I tried to download it, the PS4 told me I didn't have enough space and that I had to clear at least 70GB when my internal hard drive has over 40GB. Not a big deal, I moved DOOM, which is like 78GB, to the ADATA HDD, but I still would like to know what happened.

I hadn't installed anything on my external HDD,

Thanks! (:

It says Red Dead 2 is 89GB on the Playstation Store and you need at least double that amount of free storage to download

I know, but again, I set up my external HDD as the aplication instalation destiny. The game must've downloaded there, not on the internal hard drive

Free up or move data on the internal HDD otherwise it will still cause you problems even with an external HDD connected. Try and keep around 100GB free on the internal HDD, currently I have around 160GB free on the internal and everything is running smoothly.
