PS4 system issues (Cannot access system storage SU-42477-4)

I restarted my PlayStation and it did not turn back on properly. If I turn it on now it says cannot start the PS4 and it asks me to connect the controller with the charger and then it asks me to use a USB drive with the 6.02 update to fix it. I tried to use the update and it did not work so I chose to use the larger file that initializes the PS4 after a few hours of trying to fix this. This is what I do after and I don't know how to fix this.

1. I connect the USB, then it tells me to wait and it updates

2. It says cannot access system storage (SU-42477-4)

3. The only option it gives you is to turn it off

*I got it to work one time and get out of the safety mode and it was like if I reset the PlayStation but it became laggy and as soon as I started a game it stopped working again. Also, I know I can enter safe mode but I don't know what I'd do there (6 & 7 don't work)

All help is welcome and appreciated

The HDD is either messed up, or it's dying. If you've re-installed the intialisation fiormware (the ~950MB firmware file) and these problems are continuing, then you need to buy a new HDD and install it.

Having the exact same problem. I don't think it's related to HDD, because a lot of people got it at once.

The problem is your HDD. It's either corrupted, failing, or outright failed. Take your tin foil hat off, and do as advised in this thread. Your conspiracy theory nonsense isn't going to change the fact that the console can't access your problematic HDD. HDDs ARE NOT 100% reliable, and they CAN die.
