After the update (2.0) my ps4 lost his sound. No sound in menu, games and apps.

I was playing normally and turn off to lunch. After lunch I turn on and I saw the notice about update. I made, and since then no sound. Never, in the same tv and with the same hdmi cable, happened that.

This issue is currently under investigation

We're aware that some of you are still experiencing lack of sound output when using your PS4. Our engineers need additional information to try resolving the problem so could you please share the below information with us

Console model number:

TV model:

Type of connection/receiver you're using:

You can post theses details on this thread or send them to me via a private message.

Thanks you for your help in advance and apologies for the continued inconvenience this is causing you.

None of the above worked for me. After asking around I'm 100% sure that update royally messed HDMI 2.0 connection. As I said before, it made it completely incompatible with some TVs.

All I want to know is if it's being fixed or I should try and sell that useless brick already? Granted, that might be troublesome...

Didn't work for me either.
I've got LG 42LF2510. I tried all the methods provided in this thread, and even tried resetting the TV from the service menu - It just doesnt work.

I have to mention, PS3 works flawlessly on this port. Any fixes?

The only fix for this is a fixed new PS4 firmware. And we don't even know if sony is doing anything about this.

By the way,  I remember there was a single PS3 update that reliably permanently bricked consoles. But it was taken down very quickly.

I have tried everything mentioned in this thread. Nothing works. Chatted with Sony support that just walked me through different updates etc that I had already done. Need to know if Sony is going to fix this with a new update or if I need to buy a new TV.

Just solved my problem last night after read something about it on redit.

In my case the solution to the problem was doing a FACTORY RESET TO MY SAMSUNG TV LED

Everything back to normal, full HD and Sound trough HDMI

Hi guys,

The no sound problem has been reported and we are currently waiting for feedback. In the mean time please try the troubleshooting in this thread as its been successful for a small number of people.

If the troubleshooting has not fixed the issue please bear with me while I get a solution.

Thanks for the update SFZ.

I've been resetting TV numerous times, changing hdmi cables (i have 4 working cables), plugging off both console and TV, resetting settings etc etc. I probably already tried EVERYTHING i could have on my end. Now it's all up to You Sony!

Cheers

I had the same problem a few minutes ago, It seemed to right itself after I turned the PS4 off then back on again.

This is the first issue I've had since downloading the update on tuesday.

still no word from playstation on this, same issues as other people on here, unsupported resolution , no sound when all was working well before firmware 2.00, have tried all advice in the thread, even tried getting audio through an optical cable , no joy, it wouldnt bother me if sony had sent out a statement saying they're addressing this, but they seem to be doging the question of fixing this at theyre end, its an LG50pc1da-ec tv i have.

Did you unplugged hdmi cable in the process? In my case worked... It's like never happened. Everything is normal now!

Tried all suggestions. Nothing worked. Did a factory reset on my Monitor, unplugged my Monitor and PS4 and let it rest for 6 hours over night. Nothing. My HDMI connection is permanently messed up.

For my worked unplug all Cables from TV, power of PS4 and TV. After few minutes power on tv and PS4, then plug PS4 cable to TV and change source on TV to PS4 HDMI. I have Samsung UE40F7000.

I finally got my sound working again. I had to pull out the power cords of both the tv and the ps4. Normal restarts did nothing.
