So i got this update this morning. Any idea what it does...???
Solved! Go to solution
It is a real update.
We haven't been hacked.
It's quite small.
It's safe to install.
That is all I know for sure right now.
It appears it does not require a restart to install.
It didn't on mine anyway.
Marked as a "solution" for visibility only.
Hmm, seen a post elsewhere re this..I don't know but having a delve to see if I can find out.
Yeah. Turned up this morning. Only 60 meg. Qnd the update was differnt? U think it is a fix for the update or something...???
Or could be for god of war??? Again it might be a fix for something. Mabie one of the mods may know.
mine tries to install it but fails to complete , I´m worried about it. As a pure coincidence I was doing the 5.53 firmware installation on my 2tb hdd and then this happens... no way@pierro_a
I also installed 2tb disc weeks ago and the same problem with updating now....@Hoffman_COG
Installed perfectly on my Pro containing a 2TB HDD. Time to put your tinfoil hat on and come up with another theory.@DRUNK_WITH_GUN
want to install with usb but I cant get the update file since playstation only posted the 5.53 version....
or did sony implement this 5.53-01 into the 5.53 version available for download on their site?
I've not installed it. As I'm unsure about it.
Same Problem, installation not working on my brand new PS4 Pro God of War Limited Edition with a 2 TB HDD installed
Error SU-41309-7 is reported but found nothing. Hope Sony will fix the hotfix soon. Bye the way, greetings from Germany.
Delete the download notification for the update and run it again via System Settings > System Software Update.@JimPanseP3
Thx for the tip, but same result, instattaltion failed@mont348
Delete the notification again then rebuild the PS4's database option 5 via the safe mode menu then try again.
Safe Mode allows you to start your PS4 system with only the most basic functions active. The Safe Mode options are designed to help you solve issues with your PS4 system so that it can function normally.
|Some Safe Mode options will result in the loss of data. Always attempt to back up data from your PS4 system to an external hard drive, USB storage device or Online Storage before selecting an option from the Safe Mode menu. Safe Mode is designed to fix issues with PS4 firmware and should only be used when recommended by a PlayStation support article or Sony support staff member.|
The following options are available in Safe Mode:
Select an option below to find out what each function does, and how it can be useful.
Update System Software
Restore Default Settings
Initialize PS4 (Reinstall System Software)
The final option will only appear on PS4 Pro systems. HDCP Mode is not available on standard PS4 systems.
Set HDCP Mode
Since updating I got a message noting that they keep data on me. This is an EU data protection regulation called GDPR. Maybe just to bolt this on in time before this is in force and so not to be sued.
That was added a few weeks ago with the 4.53 update.@mynci_boi
Strange, have played since then and not been prompted, maybe it was to force it for the ones that hadn't had it.@mont348
