To open new ps4 or not to open new ps4 - cuh 1216 model

As a Jedi rabbit style ( but not quit as bad), obsessed with fan noise gamer I took the plunge to buy a new cuh 1216a model ps4 today. As someone (like Jedi) who's been through a fair few in search of a quiet console I'm hoping this new model will be quiet. However once the box is open that's it. There's no going back.

So I'm asking the forum, is this model the console I'm hoping for or do the fans ramp up and become noticeable. I sit approximately 6 feet away from where the console will be. Are the fans as intrusive when watching a Blu Ray? As the older models were loud doing this.

Is the overall improvement big enough because I'm not going to sell/take back or get rid once this box is open! I play mostly at night with low volume on the TV. I have a xb1 and can not here it at all from where I sit so I'm hoping this ps4 will be the same.

Any feedback would be good.

I don't understand this Dan loudness thing. I'm on my launch day console and can't hear a thing from it.

Just bloody open it. Why would you spend £300 and use use it?

BTW, I bought mine last week and is very quiet during operation.

lol.. a whole thread dedicated to my console returns. could be another on the cards as im not sure this random vibrating disk drive noise is anything to be concerned of? i've installed about 3 games since turning the console back on after the issue and it seems back to normal now, could turning it off and on done the trick? has something reset in the drive?

It's just not sitting perfectly flat on a rock solid surface, you fixed it earlier by moving it slightly, the shelf is the problem, it's either not perfectly flat, or it's not 100% stable/robust......or both

I think the fan noise is normal on the PS4. I used 2 different PS4 which are both exactly the same on giving louder fan noise to keep the system cool. The video from digital foundary http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njedJQ6x59I mentioned that the new PS4 models are like 10db quieter than the older model. Yes the older model may have a louder fan but at least it keeps the system slighty more cooler than the newer model.

got a day one ps4 thats so quiet occasionaly have to check the fans are working

I'm pretty sure @JediRabbit is responsible for the gravitational waves phenomenon.
