I'm the lead developer on a game called Starbound.
You can find info on Starbound over at www.playstarbound.com .
I'm posting to find out how many of you would be interested in seeing Starbound hit a playstation platform. And if you are interested, which platform would you favour?
Starbound will be hitting the PC first, but we'd like to aim for additional platforms post release to make sure no one is unable to give it a try.
Give us your thoughts!
I would like it to be on PSVITA .
I would love to see it on either console! The best thing I can imagine would be to have it on the VITA and have it pull in characters/worlds/inventories/etc... from the cloud which could be played on PC, VITA or PS3/PS4, but I know there's a LOT of work involved in that.
Long story short, I already bought a GOLD pre-order but if you guys can get on PSV or PS4, I'll contribute more :)
PS Vita would be pretty awesome :)
What are some of the hurdles you need to over come on porting the game to both systems? I personally would like it on the PS3 because that's the system I own. But if you could get it out on Vita/PS3/PS4 all at once that would be really cool.
I would definitely love to see some iteration of it on Vita. PS3 and PS4, fine, but I would be ecstatic to have a game like Starbound on Vita. Vita needs a lot more interesting games on it. I think opening up a lot of indie games on Vita would be an amazing first step at bringing life to the console.
That being said, there's a few solid indie games making their way onto the Vita in time, and I'd love to see Starbound eventually join that list. For me, handheld games need a lot of replayability. A game like Starbound could offer tons of replayability for portable playing. Binding of Isaac is going to be a smash hit when it arrives on Vita, just because the replayability it offers. Starbound would do very well on Vita, (assuming it can handle Starbound's engine and live up to Starbound's hardware requirements.)
But assuming it can be ported to Vita successfully, It will sell extremely well and be a welcome addition to any portable gamer's arsenal.
Edit: I guess it considers me as newly registered because my account was NA?
Would love to see all three. If I had to choose it would be Vita > PS3/PS4.
I'd like to have Starbound on PSV, PS3 and PS4. It would be pretty awesome. Two of my friends have PS3 and will have PS4, I'm sure they would buy the game too.
Absolutely yes. I have put down 50 towards Starbound already on PC. Of course, yes.
Like I said before, absolutely would like this on PS4/3/V.
PS3/PS4 please! Omg, yes! I'd pay $40 for this!!! :D :D :D :D
I would like to see starbound on mainly PC due to modding reasons, however, having the possibilities for playstation would be great! I would kperfer on PS3 but of cause with the PS4 coming out soon, it would most lkely be a candadient for PS4. A portible version on PS Vita or PSP would be nice, but less than ideal due to limit internet connection in some areas.
Please please please make this happen! I've been looking forward to Starbound for a very long time but I don't have a gaming capable computer (like being unable to run Terraria well enough to be fun). I would love to see this happen so I could play the game!
If there's not enough support and you decide not to, then I'll still look forward to watching others explore I guess but it woouldn't be the same.
This would be sooo great i fully support this idea but how well do you think the controls will work as this is most likely a port of the pc verison and i dont think this was plan from the start so will they have to dumb it down either way i still think this is a great idea
I only hope you put some effort into the port for it feels awesome to play. Without the commands madness (ex: Terraria Port), it will be just awesome. :cathappy:
But for me it's PS4, it feels to have more options and a system that can be have a better experience with Starbound, mainly, in the social side.
