@GraphiteGB why is the loading screen the same as the BBC Sport loading screen?

Sorry Can't confirm with any official links but expect BBC has sold the HTML5 Applications code base to other TV broadcasters or directly back to SCE.

It was reported on news sites before that Foreign Broadcasters Turned the BBC down as the standard setting company for HTML5 TV Apps but looks like Channel 5 has now agreed to either share the code base or got the same developer as BBC...

Or If SCE bought the design of the BBC.

The New SDK could come with the App base partly built and they can chose to adapt it for there needs or ditch it...

NDA means I can't talk about the other app design due for release... But every body on my friends list knows that its coming as it shows when I use it...

If Demand 5 is only a clone of BBC Iplayer HD and BBC sport stand alone apps that would explain why SCEE beta testers never tested it.

The BBC do not sell/share their application code. Each broadcaster has chosen software development companies to either port an existing version of their player from another device or build one from scratch. As most broadcasters have html5 applications on connected TVs, they use these applications as starting points.

Great addition but it looks like the content is curated since not all the stuff on the PC version is available e.g. Person of Interest.

"Person of interest" is not on virgin media Demand 5 either so looks like theres a rights issue... for  HDTV connected units...

They are having advert based problems.

The modification to the Code base to include their adverts does not working very well so far.

While testing this app... I Watched 3 NCIS episodes over 3 weeks and I only paid for 1 as the adverts did not work on 2 of the episodes.

Nice fault for the end user as it removes the adverts but the service needs to pay for itself in the end or content will get removed...

Like Youtube and BBC iplayer packet loss on these apps ( either traffic shaping via ISP or their server) will kill and lock up the apps resulting in tripple beep reboots of your PS3...

Spoiler

NCIS is a repeat from FOX HD channel so Ive allready seen them.

I had no idea about this addition because there isn't a new icon for Demand 5 in my tv services list. Does anyone know how to make it appear?

It should be in my channels box but strangely it has disappeared from there for me. Usually I delete old versions of tv apps and install updates fresh, glad I didn't this time now it seems to have gone from my channels.

I was wondering where it had gone, I was happy watching stuff two days ago, then the app popped up with some error at which point I deleted it. I went to download it again to find it had disappeared, which is a shame because I thought it was working great.

Hopefully it will be back soon.

Is the app now a forced icon? I am not willing to delete the app to find out though because I use it occasionally.

This needs raising in the tech boards the "My channels" RSS Demand 5 feed needs switching back on.

It's stopping people downloading the service and making delete and fresh instalation a problem.
