At the minute I've got the XXL broadband package and am paying £37.25 a month (although it's currently £34.75 on the VM website website) and got this in regards to wanting to downgrade to a cheaper package, sounds like either someone doesn't have a clue or is lying to me, or is it that new customers can only get the 30Mb for £22.50?

Hello,

Thanks for your e-mail to Virgin Media about downgrading your Broadband
to size XL (30Mb) package.

We're sorry to hear that you're thinking of downgrading your Broadband
package.

We can confirm that you're subscribed to the Broadband size XXL (up to
100Mb) package. The standard monthly charge for Broadband size XXL
package is £47.25.
As you're getting a monthly discount of £10.00,
you're paying £37.25 for your Broadband package.

You’re in you're in contract with us from the 18th July 2011 to the 17th
July 2012. If you'll downgrade your Broadband package you'll lose your
monthly discount.

Just so you know the standard monthly charge for the Broadband to size
XL (30Mb) package is £38.50.
There is no new contract to downgrade any
of the packages.

Kind regards,

Amrita Sonar
Virgin Media

Anyone able to provide any insight into these prices I'm being quoted?

Honestly....ditch Virgin Media, they lie they cheat and they're complete scumbag penny pinchers.

I used to be with them until I started getting crazy bills for phonecalls that I never made, and they REFUSED to sort it out, customer service were very rude and uncooperative, now I'm with plusnet....really theres little difference to my gaming experience and they're a little cheaper than VM!

Otherwise try talktalk....from experience they have some good packages.

Agree with everything there, except TalkTalk. They have a terrible repuation, so I wouldn't touch them, and I've no idea about Plusnet, so I can't comment on that.

Not Virgin but somewhat related so gonna tell you anyway.

Im with Sky btw.  I like Sky.  Prefer their TV system as it's so much more user friendly and lag free in my opinion.  Plus their apps and their customer service is decent.

Although I know the internet isn't as fast as Virgins which is a shame so swings and roundabouts really.

Anywho, I went to cancel Sky Movies and Sky Sports.  Only really got the movies for Christmas just not bothered to cancel them after.  Only like football so when football season finished It be waste of money.

I ended up keeping both channels but for half the price I was paying.  I didn't get what I wanted yet I did at the same time.  Win win i'd say.  I think anyway.

We have sky tv but virgin internet, when we got sky we thought about getting their internet but wasn't as fast as virgin and we would have had to get a bt line. BT messed us about so much when we moved in and tried to give us a stupid number with an area code completely different to that of our area (???) we told them to go away.

edit: I can't spell
