Get a higher res image.

Like 1920 x 1080 and resize it to your res so it won't stretch.

Simples.

Mines a TV lcd screen. I thought when you resize larger images the pixels become all funny looking.

Xloox thanks but ive got quite a few of them, love em but it only fills the centre of my screen :(

When you downscale images they don't look worse on a smaller screen infact they look better.

Not all the time, youll lose colour quality and clarity has what was done in say 2 pixels may now be squashed into 1. Kinda makes it look dodgy. Your best bet is to probably get a larger image and crop out unecessary parts rather than shrinking.

Depends on what image type you save it as. Bitmap will result in minimal colour loss as it saves 24 colours for each pixel on the screen ;)
