We’ve got some important news to share with all of you about your PlayStation Forum and the planned upgrades coming very soon for the Community and Support sides of the platform.
From the beginning of April our current Forum platform, dedicated to Community & Support, will be separated in two different instances. One Community platform, and a Get Help Forum!
There will be a lot more information to share with you soon but for now, we have a Q&A of some of the most commonly asked questions about forum moves.
Please leave any questions that aren't covered in the Q&A in the comments below and I'll do my best to get those answers for you from the Central team in charge of migration.
We're really excited for you all to see the new forum and know it'll be a fantastic new space for the community and a much smoother experience.
Q & A
As part of the new approach we have listened to your varied opinions and we think it’s time to split both Community and Support channels and dedicate a new platform for Community engagement and another one for Get Help and Support.
There are different updates coming to both channels, but I think it’s better if we just announce the main changes once you can get your hands on it.
We are planning to move at the beginning of April, and the exact date will be confirmed in the near future.
We appreciate your contribution to the Community for so many years and it's been amazing seeing the Community creating conversations, meeting new friends, playing online together, sharing your creativity and helping each other.
To make sure that you start your journey on the new Communities as a known member we will be implementing the following:
- Community members with specific Ranks will have a related 'Score' from Day 1.
- Community members with specific Ranks will be awarded a unique Badge recognising their role within the Community. There is also a very special badge for those users who managed to achieve Rank 16!
- Your badges will be removed as we move onto a more dynamic system.
As we move onto a new platform we need to be very selective when moving your contents by selecting the most active conversations and precious support articles. However, outdated threads will be removed from the system.
The private messages feature won’t be available anymore since PSN Messaging is available on PS4, Mobile and Desktop. Remember that your current Forum private messages will be deleted.
We are not planning to keep signatures as a feature and your current one won’t be available on the new platform.
There are very few changes here when it comes to your local Community and Support Forums.
For Community, you will find your local page on the specific local on PlayStation.com. i.e. English Community will be available under English PlayStation.com page, etc.
Our Arabic Community and also the Get Help Forum will take a bit longer to be implemented. We will keep you updated.
As of 1st of March, we will be starting the migration process of moving some of our most active conversations and precious support articles into our new platforms.
During this time the PlayStation Community Forums will be switched to a read-only format across all the Community boards to accommodate the migration process.
We will, however, open an extra board in the meantime, ensuring you can continue conversing with your Community until the migration is fully complete and the new Community Platform opens! This provisional board, however, is meant to be used during this transition period, but bear in mind that no threads and replies will be migrated onto the new Community.
The Support side of the Lithium Forum will remain open throughout the whole migration process, enabling you to continue to ask any questions or raise any issues, however, any new content, questions, answers and solutions created after the 1st of March will not be migrated to new Forum Platform.
Once Migration is complete we will look forward to welcoming you to your new home of PlayStation Community and the Support Forums.
So all boards (im mostly on the Dutch section) will get the same change!?
Great to see some changes!
Changes are good......
Yes all of the different Europe pages. You'll see similar posts pop up on the other language forums today. :)@PBJ85
As long as it doesn’t log me out every five minutes and better than the US forum I’m in.
Stop stealing your neighbours internet then you wouldn't be logged out every five minutes.HA HA YOU BOUGHT ANTHEM
This is interesting.
I'm hoping they keep some of the bigger threads, like RB, Marvel, Star Wars. I have a feeling likes and post counts will go, and current awards. None of that matters really, though. A smooth forum that has a decent amount of users is what's important.
At least they listened and are acting, so kudos to them.
Its not just marvel. Its dc v marvel. Dc is in it innit. You dcist.@utio
Boo to losing my avatar and sig. That's the only reason I'm here.
Selected previous content only to be retained. No private messaging feature. No migration of picture gallery contents.@Snozzlenut
Any info about what support level will be available for those users who are NOT just limited to the current help and discussion sections aka MVPs, SIEE Award winners and SIEE beta testers and there forums... or will SIEE be moving those groups to Discord as SIEA did... or is that info just delayed till the Temp section is added after the freeze..
Sorry do you mean will there be a hidden community sub just for MVP discussion etc? Yes, that'll still be on the community side on the new forum.@GraphiteGB
No I mean whats happening with all the Private forum sections... you have only posted whats happening to the public functions, the site is used for more than just helping joe public reset there password...
Are the Private forums moving...
Are the Archives of the Private forums being nuked or moved...
Are Beta users titles going to be honoured on new forum...
Is killzone 5 from GG going to have a SIE forum for SIEE beta testers still in the forum...
(Killzone 5 is just an example as NDA mean we can't name the Games titles... no we do not Have killzone 5 playing HZD 2 instead, joke)
Is the Firmware 6.50 Forum going to be locked and not allow posting...
@Groovy_MatthewMight be a nice farewell to the old forum to get some stats, like how many lvl 16 users, who posted the most, who received the most likes, how many threads created, and other stuff over the lifetime of the forum. If that's possible?
Although I realise you guys will be busy.
That is a good idea 👍👍
Anyone started a "highlights thread" yet?
Although I need to read it all again. If we created a thread now, would that still be live, or is it only support ones?
We could do it in a support board?@utio
What will happen to all the current Beta testers, Badges and boards?
Will the transition happen same time?
No PM, no avatars, no signatures, deleting our history.
