The 'check out my level' thread (unofficial)

Hello everyone.

I don’t know if SP was going to open up a thread about this in the near future but I am gonna go ahead and do it until they make one. So, like the title says, this is a check out my level thread.

So people can know about your level, post w/the following info:

  1. Mission name
  2. Mission tags
  3. Mission location – describe it the best you can
  4. Basic summary of the mission, not necessarily the objective you gave it when creating the mission, but just what we would be seeing
  5. (If you want to) Problems you think could be fixed but don’t know how to or problems you had that you are unhappy with in general

I’ll start it out

  1. Retake the RFI!
  2. Search and Rescue, Kill ‘em all
  3. On the street in-between the back of the citadel and the compound from the compound assault mission
  4. You’ll be making your way to the docks behind the compound looking for an RFI pickup, blasting a good amount of baddies as you go
  5. I had problems with the briefing commands; I wanted them to go off on a timer so they only appear once rather than going off from a volume box. You could step over them more than once (for some you would have to go really out of your way, but I got blasted into a few) and it would make the dialogue out of place

Feel free to contribute whenever you like and give feedback to others who post!

Thanks all! :)

I have added almost every mission mentioned in this thread to my queue. I'm getting to the point in the story where I want to see what happens, but I'll play some more UGC missions eventually. I will leave some feedback if I feel like it will be helpful.

You do it from the UGC website. Click on a mission, and you will see an "Add to queue" link if you are signed in. Then, when you are playing the game, change your mission filter to "My queue."

Took me a few hours to put this together, mainly because I was still getting use to the UGC controls, but it's here!  It features a very powered-down Cole fighting groups of enemies with a very limited arsenal.

Cole and Zeke Make a Porno

This one is my first mission.  Much more straight forward, you just need to kill alot of enemies.

I made a new level called A very special race and would like people to try it, it's currently rated as a 3 and a half and it's somewhat frustrating because I know how polished my mission is, I have 4 checkpoint and took care of almost every situation. Like if you kill the NPC before time and after the mission brief I will put you at a checkpoint after the brief, same after my triggers or ennemies have been defeated.

Basically it start as a race but get interrupted and ends in a "Karma mment".

Feel free to try it and give me feedback.

Another beta remake. It's basically my take on the bomb dispoasl section of Metal Gear Solid 2's plant chapter.

Either something is wrong with my profile or i'm just dumb, but i dont see an option on the UGC missions to add any to my queue :(

I'll look into because  i would like to play something else besides dardar missions where people just spam enemies. :p

As for the second mission, i posted it just a few mintues ago, it is called The Shifter's Arena.

http://infamousthegame.com/en_US/infamous2/community/ugc/mission.html?missionId=ba53518f-2535-4d57-a...

Located next to the water tower south of the cabaret.

I have to say, and i hope this doesn't sound too conceited, but i think this is a great mission. I spent hours on it, doing my best to perfect how it worked and how the dialogue and everything else played out. while it's not the best mission in the world as it still has flaws, i think it has the potential to be better than most and possibly turn into a series. Well that did sound a little conceited but.. i wanna know what yall think.

also, thanks to the more that have contributed, continue to post as you please! i'm looking forward to playing them once i figure it out!

thanks :D:D

I want to play some more missions in my queue, but I have this little problem. Every time my game starts up, I see the words "The Beast is in New Marais". I think I should deal with this problem first. :smileywink:

You're right. I can't add your mission to my queue, which is disappointing because it has over 4 stars.

Cole, God of Storms (Bring the Thunder!)

Battle, Kill 'Em All

Top of St. Ignatius

Infinite Health, Infinite Energy, Infinitely spawning enemies. Have fun storming the castle! Also features a kill counter and a reset for the fight. Mission is ended by collecting a thunderbolt.

Had to disabled Ionic Freeze as it was causing enemies to not respawn properly. Hopefully this gets fixed.

Please note that this mission was inspired by a similarily themed and named mission called "Cole, God of Thunder" by nobody7X7.

Cole_Macgrath: Thanks for the posotive feedback :D

I did some Revamping to the missions and took out un neccesary areas (Two Militia Guards, Bombs at the end) and fixed a few glitches (Objective not activating after you spawn at checkpoint, Misc. Powers, etc.). I also added in a mission fail if you try to leave the area and take a shortcut across the city after talking to Zeke. The ending to the mission is also different, with an easier to understand/ not so confusing, ending.

Try it out again, let me know what you think! Thanks, again! :D

I finally found the time to remake my 'Pac Man' mission from the UGC beta test.

Here it is, rebuilt for the full game, with a few tweaks and improvements ...

Puck Man

"A homage to the classic dot eating maze game."

Once again, watch out for the hidden bonus on the rooftops, which has a different effect this time.

I've created two missions worth taking a look at.  These are my first two missions

One is called "Caberet Royale v2.0"

The other is "For Medicinal Use Only"

Both can be found here on my author page.

These two missions, like all my future missions will strictly be something you can add to your gameworld and not feel like it takes away from the immersion of the story.  I know we are all just getting started but mission names like "kill All The m0nsters!!1!!" or "pakour race" immeadintly take away from the immersion of the story and although they may be greatly designed levels and alot of fun, I'm just not interested.  I'm strictly looking for and making levels that can fit into the "canon"  I haven't quite finished my first playthrough of the full game yet (I'm close) but I plan on designing a long line of UGC missions where the story takes place after the end of the game.  Kinda like an Infamous 2.5 if you will.  For now, please check out my first two missions and let me know what you think.  Follow me on twitter to keep up my infamous 2 levels and news. @TheBirdOfFlight

First mission is "Tremor's Challenge" .

its basically a boss battle and a cool mechanic is the propane tanks do extra damage to Tremor.

Check it out on my page or in game with tags Good Karma & Battle got 3 1/2 stars already and 120 plays :).

It's located between the church and the bulding where they keep kuo.

Only thing I dont like is that if you can get Tremor onto the ground and you kick him while he's down, its an insta kill, and also couldn't make him a Crusher, cause his abilities either blow up the propane tanks when you're throwing them or he kills the pedestrians on accident.

Second mission is  "Solid Serpent: Chapter I" If you don't know already theres a movie sign in the red light district that say Solid Serpent.

Gonna make it into a continuation eventually and one feature I put in I haven't seen used yet is the possibility of an alternate ending if you collect all the intel, also if you get caught, instead of mission over, the executioner will take out the VIP to do mission faliure. Unlike most infamous 2 missions, I make Cole into a regular guy all he's got is parkour and his amp.

Go check it out with tags Stealth & Narrative or on my page.

It's located at the the entrance of the Fort Phillipe.

Hope this one makes it to featured, cause a lot of work put into it (7+ hours) and I absolutely love the mission.

Mission Name: Rebel Execution (ver. 1.0)

Link: http://www.infamousthegame.com/en_GB/infamous2/community/ugc/mission.html?missionId=6d1f1e59-a935-49...

Heya. This is my first mission, but I'm pretty happy with it.

(possible spoilers, but I would imagine everyone knows all this information by now)

So this is a story mission that takes place between meeting Laroche and actually gaining his trust. This purpose of this mission is Cole helping Laroche out and furthering the trust between Cole and  Laroche/Rebels.

Unique Elements (other than shoot enemies and win):

There is a bit of dialogue in the mission to help set the stage and give you the objective.

First objective is time based to give a feeling of tension.

Large scale battle between 2 factions (rebels and militia).

Slight stealth element (Don't get spotted until completing first objective).

I think that's it.

On a side note, I wanted to thank Sucker Punch. As an indie game designer I understand the pains of game development, and giving us these tools to create our own experiences is more awesome than I can express. Creating a game is a challenge in itself, but going the extra mile to create a user friendly toolset like this is amazing. You guys rock! :D
